If you don't mind putting in the work to write a good paper then you need to take his class! I have never learned so much in an english class before in my life. Don will not explain everything in detail to you- part of his teaching method is to make you figure things out for yourself and think outside the box.. Best teacher at Clark College!

READ THIS! The book served no purpose and the only thing we learned is how to cite better. The grading was so harsh. The class average for the first paper was a D or lower. If you are not his favorite, you will fail the class. I barely was able to pass his class. It seemed like he didn't know what he was doing.

Don was honestly a great teacher for me! As long as you show up, do your work on time, and work hard, its a fairly easy class. He will give feedback when you question something and is very open to students opinions. Peer editing days were kinda a bummer though. Attendance isn't mandatory but you won't have a great grade unless you show up.

Read This! He is a nice guy to be honest about it. But when it comes to grading papers he is TERRIBLE. Our class average was usually a D and very few kids got an A. If that doesn't tell you something than I can't help you. You will not really learn anything in this class at all. If you chose to take him, well, good luck.

Ugh this guy is terrible! no explanation on any quiz or paper. if your here to learn go elsewhere. if you want a class where you spend an hour of the two hour class breathing than this is for you! his assignments are terrible with absolutely no instructions. a very sink or swim attitude, his jokes are often offensive too. str8 wht students only...

Eccentric Erskine is by far THE best teacher I have ever had. English was always a weak subject for me, and previous teachers made me despise the subject even more! Don is a teacher who makes class fun and interesting. Show up and do your work. Spell words correctly. Proof read over and over. He is there to help when needed. Wish I had him for 101.

Great professor. He challenges his students to think outside the box. Many students were upset with his assignments at first because they didn't understand what his intentions are-but that's the point he challenges you to figure it out. I learned a ton from him.I took his classes twice and I will continue to only take my English classes with him.

Don is a nice guy but I would not recommend taking his class. His grading varies on every paper, and chooses favorites in class. Also he doesn't tell you how he wants a paper written and he chooses topics too close to him and grades on his personally opinion about what you write. Try to take any other professor before him.

I took him in the summer and found the class EASY, he is not good at explaining what you need to have in your papers and on grading, but IF you try your best and come to class( laugh at his jokes) he is not to bad.

Mr. Erskine has a great personality and is a nice person overall. But I took his 101 for 2011-2012 Winter Quarter and found that he doesn't have very good ethics on teaching. I experienced that he doesn't go over what he's wanting you to do. He just expects everyone to know english and just hands the assignments and doesn't teach anything before...

Don's English class was my first college class ever after 14yrs of not being in school. He quickly made me feel at ease. He's a very sincere and genuine person. He doesn't offer extra credit so you really need to show up and participate. His quizzes are really easy if you read the material. He's always telling jokes which makes class fun.

Don Eskine is the best teacher there is! International students even excels in his easy to understand class. He enjoys teaching and makes learning enjoyable. Not just a old, boring teach who likes to listen to themselves; waiting for another check.
