One word - AMAZING! Professor Matchock is one of the best professors I've ever had! I was really nervous to take this class after reading the reviews on here but, trust me it's not that bad! He really helps you all the way through the class. His tests are straightforward and have no trick questions! I can't say enough nice things about this guy!!

If you take this class you will need to read the textbook, but he does review sessions that are really helpful and if you read and go to those you will pass.

His lectures are interesting which makes information easy to digest. Reading textbook is key. He holds exam review sessions which are super helpful. He is caring and understanding when it comes to quiz/exam retakes and also grades. Even in a big class environment, he puts in effort to get to know students. 10/10. Take his class.

Reallly great psych 100 professor, he would ramble at times but usually that was rare. The class is essentially a massive intro psych lecture but he is pretty good at keeping it interesting. Would usually let us out early by a couple minutes. Really the whole class grade is based around ten quizzes and the four exams. None are hard.

As a person he is super cool and a nice/funny guy. How he teaches is not as cool. The grades are based on only 4 tests and 3-4 journal article take-home questions. The course material is extremely difficult and he flies through it like 100mph. He might as well teach in another language to be honest. Hardest class I've ever taken.

He's a nice guy and means well, but the tests barely correlate with the lectures and the text, and no matter what I do I can't get higher than about a 75 in his class.

This class is test-heavy, but there are a few writing assignments and extra credit opportunities as well if you need them. I really liked this course, and Matchock was super knowledgeable on the subject. His lectures got long some days, but he really does care, and does his best to help everyone succeed. He'll curve exams if the avg is too low.

I love him. Typical "dad" humor with the comics he shows before every class. But, like every other comment here says, the exams and material are TOUGH. Don't take this class for an easy A. Dedicated Psych students, TAKE HIM! he will teach you sooo much, and runs a research lab that you could be a part of. His area of study and his lectures are dry.

I'm not gonna lie Matchock's classes are hard. He only gives you 4 exams and 5 graded reading articles to determine your grade. READ THE CHAPTER TWICE. It helps you out so much. Go the review sessions he has the day before. He truly does care about his students and does want you to pass. Just put forth some effort on your own time.

His class is really hard can't lie. Not an easy way to get A but he knows how hard the contained can be for the students and he does try to help the most he can. So many paper and data but you can get though with it.

DR. Matchock is by far the best professor I've had the pleasure of taking a course from. I literally missed his classes after the semester was over. He swears by reading the chapters twice but I didn't read them once and still ACED every exam! It was so easy to pay close attention in class because he made it so interesting! And even comical!

He tries to make the class enjoyable and painless as possible he know the material is hard so he does work with the students. We formed a 301W support group which was pretty amazing. This class is enjoyable and challenging.

His a great professor until you get your first exam than you regret it. there is 4 test, he wont the drop the lowest one, basically if you mess up one then your screwed. By the end of the semester 68 out of 85 dropped the class, if your taking this class thinking you will take an easy A. DONT!! I spent more time on this class then math and chem.

Matchock is great, he teaches you SPSS and he is VERY PATIENT, the cartoons are funny and you can always go to his office hours for any confusion. But READ the BOOK, offers extra credit from the readings and 301W is a hard class in general, just keep your head up and breathe and don't write papers last minute!! Class Powerpoints are diff from his.

Matchock was a cool guy, with good jokes. However, this class is very hard and the study guides he gives are broad compared to the tests and all the material he puts on them.

Worst professor in the psych field. He does not explain anything well at all. He really made my hate my major just by being in his psych301w class. That's being nice about it too.

Hes a really cool guy who does his best to make everyone understand everything he teaches. READ THE BOOK. He only gives four 50-60 question tests as his grades so they are high risk, reading the book twice definitely helps. Go to class, take notes, listen to what he has to say, read the book, and you'll get an A.

Great Professor but tough class, alot of memorization, 4 tests that did determine your grade, if you dont do well on one then your secured. He wont drop the lowest test grade, and reading the book wont help you any how.

when he says to read the book twice DO IT! it seriously helps! pay attention during class because his powerpoints are a little out of order. dont be afraid to ask questions in class and go to his office hours if you need help! he often gives sample questions before an exam and when you go over them take additional notes
