Slow grader but interesting modules. One module on a topic per week, and a discussion and quiz about the module. You can definitely get away with skipping the textbook readings/buying it all entirely. Not much extra credit offered. The majority of your grade will be determined by the quizzes and midterm + final. But they're not too hard.

Took for 2 classes, intend to take for 2 more, not because she's easy but because I'm learning and planning to transfer to a 4-year as an Anthro major - that's how good she is! Sometimes slow to grade assignments, but responds to emails quickly. Enthusiastic about subject and gladly answers non-class questions, suggests research ideas, and cares.

1 unit Anthro 1 Lab during COVID. Assignments are "easy" because prof is asking you to think and not just regurgitate, but need to understand the concepts in the first place. Can get cheap used lab text off Amazon and prof will scan pages if you don't have them. No Zoom or class meetings, flashcards provided, easy final project. You'll learn a lot!

2nd time w/this prof. Highly recommend! Grading clear and specific. Allows old text editions. Need all books, but can find at library. Topics are interesting. Keep up with reading and you can get a good grade. Can't coast through class. Responsive to emails. During Covid have option to choose quizzes or discussions each week. Midterm and Final.

Anthropology is really cool! Took Anth 1 now taking Anth 2. Grading clear and specific. It can be an "easy A" if you do the readings and are interested. Quiz, discussion and activity each week. During Covid animal research observations are online. Short term paper is the difference between an A/B or B/C or C/D. There is a midterm and a final exam.

Cultural anthropology is probably the easiest class at Foothill, and I have only taken 2 classes so far. There are 2 required textbooks but there are max 2 questions about them on the midterm and the final, so you can skip them. Modules are very easy and straightforward. I took the accelerated course and it was comfortable. Take for an easy A!

Allows use of old and cheap versions of textbook. Online lectures are mostly reading, some video, provides study terms. Quizzes only available certain days, not entire module. She is enthusiastic and shares own experiences. Discussions are fun and creative, not just answering questions. There is extra credit. Easy class but you learn a lot.

Took the class online and it was an EXTREMELY easy A. The quizzes were super straight forward and the readings she had were easy to understand. She does have some assignments where you have to go do field work (ie visiting a graveyard), but just do it and you'll get an A. Idk how she is with in-person classes since I never had to email/talk to her.

I've been in 30+yrs in-person and on-line classes and Katherine Davidson is the first inst. to never respond to any class discussions. She has yet to grade (but 2) of our papers (we are in week 8 + mid-term). The only "feedback" was 1 word on each paper, with no feedback to anyone. No engagement, or comments, not discussion corrections. frustrating

I took her the second half of spring and it was not that bad. Theres a 175 word limit for discussion posts and you have to reply two others, which is not that bad. Overall material was interesting and was easy to manage!

I wouldn't recommend her. Her weekly stuff is easy and that is most of the homework, but she regularly assigns 4-5 chapters of reading a week (about 250 pgs) and then tests on it. But doesn't test on major highlights/ concepts for anthro, she asks questions like how many gorillas are left in the congo, but doesn't mention it in lecture.

I am so glad I took this class. She made the lectures very interesting and to the point. It made me want to take more Anthro classes. Initially, I was scared of taking this class because of a previous professor but I honestly enjoyed it. The work was not difficult. As long as you do the work you will get a good grade. I definitely recommend it.

She's a nice teacher and the class was fairly easy. But there were a couple activities that we had to do which I found kind of strange and unnecessary, like going to cemeteries to observe gravestones or collecting garbage samples. Nice class though.

for her online class it was fairly easy. you have to post to the topic of the week and the data exercise of the week. each is five sentence submission. 4 quizzes are 10 questions. mid term and final are 45 questions. all answered in lecture. one term paper worth 20 points, so you can still get a B+ if you decide that easy paper is too hard for you.

Took this online. It was a very challenging/difficult class, material was very hard - especially frustrating with occasional online issues that pop up (like during tests) - I don't recommend that method since the class is not that easy in the first place. My friend took in person w/ a diff teacher and did better. I'm an A student but got a B :(

I don't think this is a easy A class, though I eventually got an A. People who want to take her course mostly believe they have papers from previous students, however, she has noticed this bad phenomenon and pretty much change her question. SO try to work hard! The textbook is as important as her module. Make sure to read all the things to get A.

i mean, i got an A so i'm guessing it's easy (even though I don't really know how I managed that). she's a really slow grader and super disorganized. constantly needs to be reminded to post quizzes etc. also the reading schedule is kinda messed up. 1 chapter one week, 5 chapters the next. don't fall behind.

It may be easy for most, but just like everything else in life, you get what you put into it. If you want to learn about anthropology, this is a good class to take.
