It's finals week, and only one out of four essays that I have written have been graded. A total of 12 weekly homeworks were assigned throughout the semester and only 8 have been graded. If you consider yourself to be an organized student, do not take this professor. I am extremely frustrated because I can't even guess what my final grade will be.

This class was so horrifically mismanaged, confusing, and irritating, that the discussion boards basically became a place where the students had to work together to piece together what was going on, except she ended up deleting those discussion boards because students were expressing their frustration!!! THERE IS NO WAY TO SEE GRADES OR FEEDBACK

Do not take this professor. While it is evident she cares about the material, I had to speed up her lectures x2 so I wouldn't fall asleep. Takes a long time for her to grade, but when you do get feedback, it's dreadful because of how critical she is. What could have been an interesting class was quite drab instead.

Dr. Gholson is rude and seems to lack empathy. As others have stated, she takes way too long to grade assignments and does not clearly outline what is expected of weekly assignments. Do not take her courses, unless you constantly want to feel bad about yourself.

Communication at the beginning of the class' debut was minimal. Comically long waits for feedback in FAQ discussion board. Due dates were not updated until weeks into the course. Lectures in HQ, no compressed versions. I have no doubts that Dr. Gholson loves her work and is a very knowledgeable person, but my experience was very, very poor.

she did not grade any of the papers until the grades were due at the end of the semester. Since she did not grade anything, you can't improve and she left rude comments about how things were wrong but you since she graded so late, you couldn't correct it for the next paper. I had to get in connect w/ the department of English because she sucks.

Worst professor I have ever had. This was on online class and let me tell you she did not make it easy. She grades everything out of 100 points, so a 200 word weekly journal entry was weighted the same as my 12 page paper. How does that make any sense? She does not put grades in until the last couple of weeks and just really sucks as a teacher.

VERY vague about all writing assignments. She did not grade any of the homework until the last week of classes so you dont know if you did well or not. If you email and ask any questions, she does not address what you asked AT ALL. DO NOT TAKE.

Honestly the worst professor I have had. I took her class online, the structure was confusing. Everything is worth 100 points, so your weekly journals and the 10page paper are worth the same. She grades strictly with little feedback making grades seem arbitrary. Assignments are vague and she emails new requirements a few days before the due date.

I'm still currently in her class and its brutal. She's long winded... meandering... gives the vaguest homework assignments and then talks to you like you're stupid if you ask her to clarify. I WOULD NEVER take her again. Im sure she's a great person... she seems nice... but horrendous teacher.

This was the absolute worst class I have taken in college. Her assignments are incredibly vague and then she just randomly assigns a grade with very little feedback. They are very demanding for a 200 level course. Her lectures ramble and are hard to follow. I bought two textbooks for this course and we never used them. Awful. Never take her class.

Horrible. Im in the class right now and there is supposed to be 25 people and each day only about 6-10 show up. She talks a word a minute and each point she makes doesn't have anything to do with the last. Do not take this with her. It isn't even that hard of a class she just makes it super boring and awful.

I'm in her class currently, and I really try to give every professor the benefit of the doubt. She seems sweet and is clearly struggling greatly, but her classroom is so scatterbrained and monotone that I fight to pay attention. She also tends to assign homework as if her class is the only one you have. DO. NOT. RECOMMEND.

I am not one to ever blame teachers for classroom performance, but this professor is the exception. I thought it was ridiculous that a 100 word journal was weighted the same in her classroom as a 10 page paper. She was very unclear at times with what she wanted and the classroom slowly dwindled down to half its size by the 3rd month.

Nice person. Disorganized and unclear. Slow grading. Couldn't put graded copies of my papers in end-of-semester portfolio as required, because they had not been graded, even though I turned them in in February. Grades out of 100 seem random and not tied to feedback (eg. "Good job on everything" -> 91 out of 100 pts). Effort felt like waste of time.

Very nice woman and truly loves what she teaches, but the material she gives is unclear most of the time and she is a very hard grader. She rambles a lot and information can get lost, so you definitely have to pay attention to everything she's saying. Not an easy grade and you have to write 6 papers throughout the semester. Finals are tough.

She's very nice but the class isn't structured well so it made learning and preparing for her midterm (which was optional to take) and her final really hard. You have to write 6 papers (only 2 pages) throughout the semester and you can write more if you need to bring your grade up. The folklore cards were easy, but took FOREVER to make.

I took her for my folklore class and she was really insightful about folklore. A little full of herself and you could tell she thinks she's the most interesting person around but still a good class overall. the readings are a necessity, though because they come up on the midterm and the final
