Comment:
Professor Lerner was completely dismissive to me and my concerns, he was demeaning and never made me feel like I was appreciated in class. I have heard from other students who have felt similarly, he puts down students to make himself feel big.

Great professor, takes time to make sure his students understand the material. Is available to discuss questions during office hours. Grades are dependent on you, and how much time you can devote to the classes.

Professor Lerner is one of my favorite professors at this school for his ability to convey his thoughts (in another language) in a clear and coherent manner that the students will comprehend more easily. He is a fair grader and is looking for students who actually care about the course. If you show him you care about learning, you will be rewarded.

So I took his senior seminar just this semester. The first thing I didn't appreciate is how on the first day of classes, he decides to change the course name. The class had nothing to do with French language, culture or litterature. I had to do with religion and his efforts to convert every christian in a class to become jewish, like him.

Very smart, good knowledge of Italian AND French. Has high expectations, and his tests are little too hard considering his high standards for even an A-. Overall, a well-intentioned man who'll help you succeed if really want to.
