Dr. Bell has to be one of my favorite professors I've had so far, which says a lot for a chemistry professor. He made the class so much fun, but doesn't sugarcoat anything and makes you work for your grade. Overall, I would take this class a thousand times again if I had him as my professor.

Dr. Bell is a great guy. Is open outside the classroom. I had him in my first semester during the Fall of '19. He's a great guy, but however grading is overkill, so beware of that. Do your homework and you can pass. I would not consider him the best professor if you did not take chemistry in the past.

Ok, Bell isn't the nicest professor, but he is actually very helpful and funny as hell. I swear this guy curses in class like its nothing, but it's funny and lightens the mood. The labs aren't too difficult and while the reports are long, he at least tells you exactly how to do them.

There are a lot of quizzes, but 5 get dropped which is nice. I never did the homework. If you understand how to do the quizzes and pay attention in recitation, you'll be fine. He wants you to learn, but he's not going to go easy on you. Also, if you want to do research with him, just ask. There are some dumb people that still got in.

Bell is the absolute worst. I would avoid chemistry at all costs with him. His lectures are only understandable if you ALREADY know the material he is supposed to be teaching you. He is very condescending and makes you feel inferior and stupid. I was miserable in his class, but it wasn't for a lack of effort. I went to office hours and put in work.

DO. THE. HOMEWORK. You have no chance in this class unless you do the homework (unless you're some kind of chem wizard). Your whole entire life will be chem. Say goodbye to Thirsty Thursday and all of your weekends. He is a great prof. and will help you if you go to him. He is intimidating at first, but very helpful and funny. DO NOT FALL BEHIND.

Labs are generally very confusing but Bell makes sure everything is very clear. He is a very tough grader and makes you work for your A. The lab reports are challenging and time consuming, in order to get the most points on a report GO TO HIS OFFICE AND HAVE HIM READ IT!! He gives a lot of feedback and makes sure you arent missing anything.

Dr. Bell is hands down the best chemistry professor at Altoona. I had him for 110, 112, & 113. Hes very understanding and makes the class as interesting as possible. Skipping class will not benefit you in any way as every class is lecture heavy. His office hours are very flexible and if you dont understand something he will explain in more detail

Dr. Bell comes off like he doesn't care about the students but if you care about your grade and the class he is extremely nice and helpful. He gets a lot of students that don't want to be there and end up dropping the class. Don't blow off the canvas quizzes, they will end up counting for as much of your final grade as an exam. Go to office hours.

The lectures were very informative, but too informative. He talked a lot about chem 112 stuff even though we were in 110. He also goes through the slides very fast. He has great office hours and are welcome to chat with him if he is in there. Go prepared!! Also, if you don't do the homework you won't pass. Quizzes online are easy.

He seems grumpy and unapproachable, but if you do your homework and show up to class he is the nicest person and will help you will anything. Picky on small details, but it makes you a better student. Just do the homework and you will AT LEAST pass the class. It is possible to earn an A, you just have to work for it. Doesn't curve, but dont give up

Dr. Bell is a must take professor for any level of chem you need. P chem is hard but Dr. Bell made it so enjoyable and understandable! He really is hilarious and is really fun in lecture. He grades very fair and really makes sure you understand why things are happening the way they are. I truly learned SO much from him.

SCARY AT FIRST BUT A REALLY GREAT GUY. Professor Bell is sarcastic and crude but somehow very caring. He wants his students to come to class and participate since he has very informational lectures. He also highly encourages students to visit his office if they have any questions.

Great professor! He actually explains the material well, recitation is really helpful because he explains the problems step by step and makes sure everyone understands as he goes through every step. Best chemistry professor in the department I believe.

LOVE HIM! 1. if you rated Dr. Bell as awful then you probably are dumb and didn't try. He is fair when it comes to grading but he doesn't just give an A, he makes you for it. I love him to death and 350 characters can not express how good of a professor he is. If you care then Dr. Bell will care an if you go to his office hours he will help you100%

This class isn't hard as long you actually show up and do your homework. Bell will tell you that all throughout the semester which can get annoying but he's right. The questions on the exams are exactly like the homework so if you do the homework you know exactly what to expect. Also save your money and don't buy the $300 textbook, you dont use it.

Bell knows his stuff and is great at explaining. He always details labs before they are done so you know what you're doing. Lab reports and their grading are tough but if you learn to do them how he wants you to they will become easier as the course goes by. Make sure you give it your best attempt before asking for help. Very helpful when you do.

Amazing at lectures he spends just enough time of each subject for you to understand, he's brilliant! The quizzes are pretty difficult and are timed which makes it difficult to get the questions answered before time is up but there isn't a limit on how many times to take them. Do the homework and talk to him he's very nice and will definitely help!

Bell is a great professor and really really knows is stuff. His lectures are very informative and you really need to attend class to get the most information. He is tough grader but grades on partial credit too which is nice. His homework problems are really helpful and he will make sure to best prepare you for future classes.
