Enjoyed his old man humor and his pictures. Lots of briefs, one group project (did you win?), lecture is in detail. Definitely will be embarrassed throughout the class but you'll be fine. 27 page paper and a 9 page paper are things to consider before signing up. Good luck! You'll do great!

I took all 3 courses in 2015-2017. As a new attorney, I assure you the way Prof. Stafford teaches is the same way law school professors teach. If you feel he doesnt care about you, I implore you to meet with him privately in office hours. I owe so much to his guidance and mentorship.

Taking Professor Stafford's class was challenging, yet fulfilling. Be prepared to read a lot and be able to draw connections between the material quickly and on the spot (he likes to cold call on people). Paying attention is very, very important. While it may seem impossible at times, I finished the class feeling more confident as a student.

Yes, Stafford's classes are TOUGH. That being said, he is one of the best professors I have ever taken at UF. He really pushes you to do better and to prepare you for law school. If you aren't ready to put in the work, don't waste your time. However, this is one of the BEST classes I have ever taken, and I HIGHLY recommend it to any prelaw student.

If you are wondering if you should take this class- DON'T. Trust me, please save yourself the tears, the sleep, the money and your GPA. Quite frankly, I do not think it is worth it. This class may be "good for law school," but it provides too much stress and work for no reason and not clear instruction. There are other classes out there!!

Don't listen to Stafford haters. He might teach the hardest poli-sci classes, but he is also extremely compassionate and hilarious. Every class is like a highly educational version of standup comedy. But yes, the work load relative to other courses is insane. You will often read 200 pages a week, or should, but some did better than I and read less.

I took Professor Stafford's class in 2007, so its been a while. I'm now an attorney, and I can say that his class was probably harder than any class I took in law school. But also rewarding. He can be intimidating and his class is hard, but if its right for you, you'll learn so much, and will gratefully remember the experience forever.

He guides us to confront realities of life that no one talks about. He prepares you for law school and life. I can't recommend him enough. Law school will still be hard, but manageable because of Stafford's lessons. I have grown so much. Taking the 3 courses has been my greatest academic investment! Do his courses, DIG IN, you'll thank yourself!

For any would be Stafford cultists, here is a flow chart for taking any of his three classes. Do you want to go to Law School? If yes, then take Stafford, if no, then don't over-encumber yourself, seriously. Stafford will likely be the most influential professor you will encounter in any UF class; however, that influence has a cost; Difficulty.

If you want to make sure you want to be a lawyer before applying to law school, give this a go. He will test your will for the subject. But thats all his homework and reading. Dont feel bad if you do bad on his tests. Lawyers, Judges, and Professors tend to be try-hards concerning writing and research. Welcome to law. Not good teacher at all.

If you come to this class expecting to learn about racism, you're in for a surprise. Does more to confirm racist ideas in class than challenge them. The only people that are uncomfortable are people of color and he's not willing to change that. His ego is just that large. Must be all the recommendation letters.

Do not get lost in his idolization. He comes late (I'm talking 15 minutes left in class) to draw hieroglyphics on the board and talk about pop culture. The other half of the class is telling you that you you'll fail. Don't worry, he is not the gatekeeper to law school. You don't have to take his class to test yourself. Find less stressful means.

Taking this class will be one of the hardest things you do as it is very much self-taught, but if you make the effort to seek it, Professor Stafford will provide sufficient guidance in that endeavor. In reaching out, you will come to learn just how much he cares about his students and how much he wants us to share in his passion for the subject.

Just go in and set the bar low for him and youll be fine. Believe it or not hes more lenient on lazier students than hardworking ones . I wrote 12 pages on the 30 page research paper and came out with an A-.

Professor Stafford is one of the best professors that I have had at UF. If you are planning to go to law school, his classes are a must take. You do have to teach yourself a majority of the concepts, but the workload, ways of teaching yourself, and participation in class, will prepare you for law school and help you succeed.

hes not a good teacher. Lets be honest hes not. His class is hard and is only rewarding for people who feel like their self worth is based on all the busy work he gives you. I stopped going to class for a bit because I realized that he teaches literally nothing, and it paid off. I actually started doing better. hard work and no substance.

Good to get ready for law school. Thats it. And by ready I mean the reading and writing. He doesn't know how to give good feedback. His funny and he will challenge you, but he's one of those teachers that prides himself on being difficult rather than being engaged in the concepts were supposed to learn. So that's it. He's funny and nicebut thatsall
