On the first day of final week, changed the way he graded and it dropped me to failing from a pass, and dropped the class average to 59%. TA's do the majority of his grading, and make or break the class, which sucks if he assigns poor TA's. Avoid this man like the plague if you have any other means, such as the python CS2003. 0/10 changed majors.

Maybe once or twice a week he goes off on a tangent for 15 minutes but still teaches everything needed that day. Yes, his tests are hard but it's college... Overall he's really good and you learn a lot if you put in the effort.

Lecture time is spent talking about Disney movies, how awesome he is, and on how smart his son is. Adds quizzes randomly with very short deadlines, doesn't follow the syllabus. If you suck up to him he will curve your grade a lot at the end of the semester but if he doesn't like will grade you harsher and not curve. One of the worst prof I had

In no way did he help at all with any of the coding or actual programming part of the language. He tries to be funny, and goes off on tangents during class which cut into learning time. I would not recommend

Nice guy. Spend too many times for stories and jokes in class. Easy distracted lectures. Better read more for the test. Require more understanding than coding. Questions for the exams are confusing. Not an easy A. But again, nice guy:)

Sen did not answer questions in class, and often called people out. He assumes you know many things that were not taught in class. He is an extremely tough grader, so unless you're a phenomenal programmer, grades will be a struggle.

Either you love Sen or you hate him. He wants the less experienced students to answer questions during class, but when they ask him questions, he says "I don't know, you tell me." Also, his tests are geared toward understanding, which I can appreciate, but he asks a lot of those time consuming questions on his tests.

By far the most influential professor I have experienced in my college career. He has taught me so much, and he has pushed me to become more than a good student but to think like a scientist. He is one of those rare professors who comes along only a few times if you are lucky.

Class is a little difficult, but fun. He explains everything. You will have an A if you listen in class and read. Sen is freakin hilarious. He's one of those genius profs but not weird out there. We'd literally spend 50 min talking about the Lion King then last 15 minutes hes like, "Oh so you guys have a lab due. Let's go over that quick."

Another tidbit... I think i went to class all of 4 times the entire semester and nothing surprised me on exam. If you want to do good on test, know text thouroughly and labs and there is no way you can do bad. Seriously, everything is in text. Just read and learn, that simple.

He's english is understandable at this point. Seems to tell you almost exact code for 50% of labs. Want you to understand rather that memorize, why some test questions seem out of place. I thought it was a very interesting class, seems very wise and knowledgeale, good and interesting tangents. one of the most mind expanding classes I've had.

He has earned his reputation as a difficult professor, but only because he expects you to know the material well. Funny, good lecturer. Does an excellent job of motivating the material and providing philosophical context. Take his AI class if you are legitimately interested in the material; this is NOT a class to take as "just another elective."

Sandip is a very difficult professor. His teaching methods make understanding the content of the course difficult to understand. When asking a question, he replied "I don't know you tell me." Sandip does not adequately prepare his students for the tricky exams that torment his students. WARNING: no repeat tests for Sen.

He's very difficult. At times brings in random things not in the textbook and will expect you to know them for the test, even if the test is the next day. Will try and help you understand something but will sometimes make things even more confusing. A lot of info he gives does not come from the textbook.

Very confusing, spoke terriable english which made understanding terms very difficult since he couldn't pronunce them correctly. had a class of about 50 at the start of the year and about 13 at the end of the year. offers very little help on labs.... beware

I didn't have much trouble with the course (I had 2 years of Java prior to the class), but I got the feeling less experienced people were struggling. Parts of his tests are predictable and others parts reference stuff he mentions once offhand in class. When asked a question he often misunderstands. Work hard on labs, at 40% they make or break you.

I find it easy, but I probably should have tested out of the class before taking it. It's hard to tell how well he's explaining the concepts, because I already know what he's explaining. I've learned a little bit, but there hasn't been much I didn't cover in high school.
