I did not enjoy taking class with him, all he does is read off a paper in a monotone voice, not the best to listen to at 8 am. He constantly cancels class (not a complaint tho) If youre ever going to be absent though tell him ahead of time, he doesnt do technology so you cant email him. For tests he reads you the legit questions on there. Easy

worst teacher! if your nice to him he will be mean to you! don't bother emailing him because he does not use email. he "teaches" one thing but then talks about his life story. if you miss a test you will not be able to make it up! he will talk about the same thing over and over again every class. does not bother to show up. tests don't make sense!

Avoid this class at all costs. I can admit I he can be funny and all thats fine, if you want to talk to someone funny hangout in his office. His classes are all GPA killers. 4 tests straight from the text book (not his lectures) and does not tell you when hell be absent (ie you can wake up for a 7am and he wont show up.) do not take him !!

He is extremely boring. I bought a textbook that i NEVER used, so do not get the book, you will never use it. I got a 75 or above on every test, was only absent 3 times and some how recieved a D+. Do not take his class. HIGHLY do not recommend.

Hes an experience police officer and can be funny at times, but that's it. His ability to teach students is abysmal. He is Rude, Impatient, and is late almost every single day. And his tests make absolutely no sense at all. I seriously wouldn't recommend taking this class if you want to learn something.

hes funny sometimes , but hes very rude and extremely difficult. you cant come late, never has enough test papers so if you don't run to the desk you're not getting one. and it gets boring. oh and if you're absent 3 times you're kicked out.

He knows his stuff, being he was a cop for 20 years but is unbelievably rude when talking to him. Wouldn't advise taking him as a professor but if you do end up taking him, take notes and show up to class.

I had prof Hoffman for Criminal investigation. His classes were all lectures, but I found them to be interesting. We reviewed before a couple of the tests and they were easy usually about 25 multiple choice and came straight from our notes.

he is not a teacher!!! he is a retired police sergeant who stands in front of the classroom and lectures the entire class. he doesn't give a syllabus bc "no one reads them". grade in class is based only on the 4 tests which he doesn't review for. takes attendance every class. He demands respect but does not respect you. you dont need the textbook

It a very good professor, her just stands in the front of the room and reads off a paper. Makes students buy the textbook when we never even used it. Not good at all, do not take.

This professor at first comes off as uninteresting and very strict, however throughout the semester you'll get used to his style of teaching. He gives a good amount of notes for you to write but if you take them and study at least 5 minutes before class you'll do fine in his class.

do not take! His tests are so tricky! Every answer could be the right one- no joke. Don't even try to argue with him about it because he's "always right." I think he's also very unprofessional. I'm a straight A student and got 70's on his tests.

He is ok. Lectures are interesting to an extent, but hard to understand him sometimes. Exams are pretty basic. Not a lot of questions, but you have to really pay attention to what he talks about. Make sure your attendance is good, miss one class you might miss a whole lot.

Amazing professor. Hands down. Understood everything thing he said, take a lot of notes but it's worth it. Sense of humor is always good when teaching. Test are so easy so you shouldn't fail

Very to the point, to pass all you really have to do is show up. He's a nice guy, funny. If he's done with the lecture he lets you out early, although his class's never felt long. Never dreaded going and actually enjoyed it, tests are super easy and everything we learned. I would 100% take him again

Hoffman overall is a good professor. He gives no homework or quizes, only 4 exams all semester. So if you fail one, you're screwed. Each exam is only 25 questions. He dictates all of his lectures and he speaks really fast! Also, he gives NO reviews for the exams! I would take him again though. Overall, he's straightforward.

hoffman's class was by far the most boring class I have ever taken in all my life. It is literally impossible to stay awake for an 8am. Hes rude and doesn't give extra credit. Hoffman talks in a low deep voice all class with no clear direction. I have never received a grade lower then an A in a cj class except for his class. Avoid.
