Professor Carson is the sweetest person ever and cares about her students and unfortunately I feel I got the raw end of the deal this semester with a fully online course. Read the books and turn in the 4 assignments with high effort and you will get an easy A. Go to zoom class online every week because she is an extremely inspiring professor!!

Volunteering at an elementary school is half of the class's requirements. All volunteer work is done during class time and it is the best part of this class. Susan gives great advice on how to work with the kids. Her class is not at all difficult. Some of her lectures bored me, but overall she's a great professor and a very kind person.

TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER AND ONLY HER!! Susan is honestly the best!! In her course you get the unique opportunity to mentor students at Coit Creative Arts Academy and it is THE best part of this class. Susan also has such cool experiences that she is always willing to share with everyone. Only assignments are a few papers (2-3) and a group project

Susan is one of the best professors I have ever had! She is super experienced and very passionate about education. We gained our 25 volunteer hours by visiting Coit Academy for most of our class sessions and it is the best experience a future teacher could ask for! Take her class!

I loved Susan. She's inspiring and really focused on education and enlightening people. We had to tutor at a, elementary school, which was in a way fun, but you can't afford to miss it. Besides that, the only other problem was group projects. My group was terrible and did nothing, even though the group projects were most of our grade.

Worst grad class I've taken. Some interesting discussions, but her syllabus nor rubrics matched our class. First class I didn't get an A in. No feedback until final grades. I got nothing out of the class.

She models best practices of an inclusive, discussion-based class. Since the course only met 3 weekends, it felt like cram sessions with nothing in between. I don't have much in the way of take-aways apart from the demographic study. That was great. I would have liked to see more lecture and knowledge building on best practices.

Amazing class if you're going into education. You volunteer at a school for a majority of the semester and complete almost all required hours for the College of Ed. A couple of group projects but they aren't difficult. Gives amazing feedback on papers and projects.

Susan helped us recognize the humanity in each other and the way we needed to learn from each other. Encountered a lot of new ideas, and a few old ones. The class discussions make the class! Read Privilege, Power, and Difference- the whole book. Not a word is wasted. Take Susan's class!!
