Do what's expected and all will be fine. 6. Hard but do-able.7. I had her several years ago and if she's still there and you want to learn-she's the ticket.

You can get an A, but must go to every class and take good notes. Certain "keywords" she uses in lectures must be included on your test essays. Essay sentences must be precise, keyword/definition inclusive, etc. She's tough.. but you will learn an incredible amount about art history if you take this class seriously.

WHAT A JOKE!!! One of the most esteemed music departments in the state is being run by an ART HISTORY teacher. She has no interest in the lives of music education students at Missouri State, and no compassion for them or what they do. Useless human being who should be fired. I could say a lot worse things on here if there wasn't a Character limit.

Was recently confined to mus. lib. because of inability to get along with others. I like being pushed - but she pushes you in to watch you drown. An intimate liason would probably be useful to her disposition.

Completely rude...I scheduled a meeting with her to review material for a test and she didn't even show up. Not only did she NOT show up, she didn't call me or email me to notify me she wouldn't be there. Her class is very interesting, but good luck...

This was one of the worst experiences of my entire college career. She was rude and condescending throughout the year and seems to enjoy making her students feel dumb. The tests don't follow the study guides, she doesn't grade fairly and will not discuss grades. She makes accusations of cheating and assumes all students are liars and cheats.

Dr. Strickland has the power to make everyone around her feel like an idiot. Learning is difficult because everyone is scared of asking questions because of her smartass answers. Do yourself a favor and wait to take the class after she retires.

I don't know. She knows everything there is to know about Renaissance art, but she relays the information poorly. She is hard to follow because she talks swiftly about things like you are supposed to know what she is talking about. She grades REALLY hard, and you write paper after paper. The cool thing is she doesn't give tests...just papers

This class is not as hard as people make it seem. I got an A on every test, paper, and assignment. Dr. Strickland is actually very clear in explaining what she wants and she's very helpful as well. You absolutely have to go to class, and you have to study for tests, but the research paper everyone complains about is a breeze.

DR. Strickland-emphasize the Dr. or you'll immediately fail. This class gave me anxiety so bad that I couldn't sleep at night. Unfortunately, all art majors have to take her. Previous tests help somewhat to give you an idea of what'll be on the tests.-All essays. Talk with her...you have a better chance of passing. My condolences to you.

Oh god. Hateful and bitter. I've had 6 art history classes in my life and the crap she teaches is repetitive and stale. She needs to retire. Don't even think about taking this class, but if you have to, just write down verbatim what she says and spit it back out (like Gannon in Zelda).

I recommend going to every class. This is how you get most of your points because she assigns easy in class writing assignments and as long as you do them you get your points. Tests aren't that bad as long as you study all the material she lines out for you on the study guide. The research paper is ridiculous and she doesn't make it very clear.

Way to much work to fulfill credit requirements. She assigns a writing assignment almost every week and expects evryone to be as interested in useless history as she is. Poorly taught and poorly graded class. (It's not hard to see why she's a man hater)

If Dr. Strickland had her way, both students and dogs would be confined to choke chains. A vicious professor with very apparent emotional problems. She's also got only fair writing skills and doesn't double-check her math when grading.

Lazy people beware! If you want an A, expect to do the work, it's not rocket science people! Use spellcheck, and expect to do a lot of papers and reading, but you can learn a lot from this course if you apply yourself! Remember...you're paying for this class!

Avoid Strickland. She grades very harshly. In her essays, if you miss a couple buzz words that she wants to hear you're gonna pay big time. You get a ton of possible essays to study, and there are only two on the test, but which two you don't know. Double check her grading! She makes big mistakes!
