Disorganized. Very friendly but not a good prof. Makes the course a lot harder than it needs to be.

She is a great instructor. She is very organized. Her weekly quiz is from the case study that make you get bonus mark, and help you think like a nurse. Overall she is very helpful and approachable instructor. I highly recommend her for students who want to take patho

Lois is a nice and caring lady. Sometimes she is confusing, but overall she is a good instructor. Lois usually gives bonus marks in quizzes. Study her slides, listen to her lectures and you will pass the course. Books are not mandatory but reading the books will make it easier to study the course.

Patho is a tough course in general-- it requires a lot of effort to receive a good mark. Although Lois' lectures/notes took some getting used to, she lays out clear criteria on what is essential to know for exams. She pushes you to think critically, as you would in a nursing profession. Those who complain about her didn't care to put any effort in.

First of all, don't waste your money on the textbook, as you will NEVER use it. I found her lectures difficult to follow, but her notes are extremely detailed. Lots of self-teaching req! Class consisted of online modules (easy), weekly case-study quizzes (also pretty easy) and 3 exams (I found them difficult). Plus is the final isn't cumulative.

Comment:
Very approachable and friendly but a terrible prof. Generally confusing and wastes time drawing iffy diagrams in borderline handwriting. Lecture slides have many blanks that she frequently doesn't fill and is constantly in a rush. Hardly enough time to write down what she is saying let alone absorb information. If you want to keep your 4.0, avoid.

She is unorganized and doesn't even know the material she is teaching. She will tell you one thing and then on the exam, the answer will be different. She is all over the place in her teaching style and will jump from one point to another and then go back. Avoid taking class with her at all costs

Lois is a super nice woman, very approachable, but she tends to get off track all the time in her lectures. She will cover the material properly, but then adds unnecessary info, which detracts from the overall lesson. Her quizzes are more difficult than other classes -- I compared her quizzes with another 1103 teachers.

Pro: nice lady, straightforward quizzes, exam. Con: poorly organized, very difficult to understand - confusing notes, confusing lectures. Only good if okay with independent studying her notes will not help, only confuse & frustrate. Need to reread her notes & reteach yourself. Avoid if need guidance. Does not adequately prepare nursing students.

Lois is an odd duck. She teaches as though she expects everyone to be on the same level of knowledge as her. She does a lot of drawings on the board that will make your head spin. She is however very approachable and kind.

Comment:
Don't take class with Lois if you can. Her lecture slides are very hard to follow compared to other professor's teaching the same course. Overall very confusing especially because there are lab exams where correct answers aren't given beforehand to study for. You basically write the exam not knowing whether it is the right answer. AVOID this class.

Comment:
Lecture notes are extremely unclear. If you get this prof I would definitely recommend buying the textbook as you will need it to do lots of reading on your own time to grasp the concepts. Her grading and marking criteria is also very confusing and questionable. Lab and lecture quizzes are given each week.

Presentation style is changing to fit the needs of learners. Does talk fast but if you ask her to repeat what she said, she will repeat it for you. Weekly quizzes with detestable group work afterwards with presentations and question and answer. Some quizzes may have lab calculations to help you with final lab exam which is brutal.

Helps to make up marks with more quizzes and help outside class. Hate group work, choose another. Asks to bring textbook for group work but this will change. Includes some lab work in quizzes to help you with lab final. Slides give lots of info which may or may not be helpful to you. Is specific of what will be on the tests and explains concepts.

Lectures are boring and she speaks too fast so you miss half the information and almost fall asleep. Her objectives for each module are helpful to study for off of as they act as a study guide. Her midterms cover every and never focused more on one thing, but her quizzes are hard.

Lois is a very helpful professor and she will be there for you when you find a concept confusion. However, considering the MASSIVE amount of material Pathophys. has, she doesn't teach it all very clearly. Lots of self-studying required. Quizzes tough, as she expects you to learn huge chunks of material at a time so you shouldn't consider skipping.

Comment:
The tests are extremely difficult and do not reflect material lectured in class, professor is a HARD marker, skip class and you WILL NOT PASS, quizzes are weekly and midterm and final are difficult. There is NO lab exam, but lab marks are worth 25% of your grade. Take this professor at your own discretion, you MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES TO PASS.
