Lectures are fast-paced. A lot of long homework but she's willing to help if you email her with your ideas. Read the book for help explaining the content, but it's not necessary. She's nice but short answer exams can be hard if you're not prepared for them. Some EC. Go to her review sessions! Take her if you are willing to work for your grade.

Extremely boring lectures with exams that are all fill in the blank/short answer. Puts old tests online and current exams are very similar so study those. If possible take this class with another professor unless you feel like struggling.

Thoroughly read the book and do all Launchpads (Practice exams ect.) if you want to do well in this course. Take a PLTL and ask questions, its a great way to get review. Lectures were boring, but Dr.D is very smart does care, go to her office hours and asking her for help on concepts.

Try to take this biology course with a different professor. Her notes and lectures make no sense, and she does not explain anything. Use the practice launchpad quizzes because her tests have the same questions. I had to retake this class.

Such a hard class. It was really challenging due to the fact that Dr. D is not a great lecturer. She knows what she is talking about but is very boring and not a great teacher. Be prepared to teach yourself the content. Your grade is almost solely based on tests

Janet is a kind person, but honestly I don't think teaching is her thing. She is smart and knows biology really well but she doesn't really teach it the best to the class. I had to teach myself all of the material in my own time. There is no attendance but there are in-class activities so don't try skipping, your grade will suffer for it.

She's pretty tough, but you can tell she knows her stuff. Her lectures aren't great but you should definitely always go for the TopHat questions. YOU have to be the one who decides you're gonna buck up and pass. Highlight: I accidentally slept through an exam and she let me retake it; only took off like 4%. ---- High school math teacher vibes

Dr. Duerr is a nice professor, and the class material was interesting. That said, if you don't put in the work you will fail this class. Read the textbook, do the homework, and take every single practice exam she gives you and you will get an A in this class.

Please try to avoid this professor. Her lectures are truly useless and she is very scattered. Tests are pretty difficult, but if you can't avoid her, USE THE LAUNCHPAD QUIZZES.

Dr. D is very passionate about this class. Although this class is a lot of memorization and the exams were pretty hard, I am doing well in the class because of Dr. D's enthusiasm. She makes herself extremely available outside of class time and provides many opportunities for in class extra credit.

Awful class, I had to teach myself all the material for the exams by reading the book. The homework is so often you will definitely miss at least 10 assignments if you have any other classes that are difficult. Requires hours of work outside of lecture to do well on the exams, even went to every SI. Avoid this teacher for 1700 if at all possible

Fairly easy. 3 exams which were all extended response. You have to go to class for points, but don't have to pay attention. Cram notes and all of the old exams she gives you, they are the exam. Weekly homework, but can find answers online or on old exams on blackboard, check with people. Extra credit. Curves every exam.

Her lectures are bad, no doubt. But she gives you the past 4 years worth of exams to study off of. She takes questions directly from them and will go over the very important stuff in class multiple times. Read the readings before class and it will help you understand her fast and spastic lectures.

Lectures were useless, read the book and take good notes on the book, do the study guide and you'll do fine. Her lectures barely scraped the surface of what she expects you to know

Comment:
There's a lot of fluff in this course and thankfully in class she'll tell you whats going to be on the test. Reading the textbook is just extra work in my opinion. Not the clearest during lecture or too interesting but she's a decent person and isn't mean or anything. You can pass but it takes work.
