Homie is a cool dude but he is the only professor I have met who uses the grading scale of 96-100 for an A opposed to the standard 93-100 like any normal professor. This should tell you a lot about the class in itself. Be ready to slave away to Pearson my Lab and make damn near zero mistakes to achieve an A. If you happen to receive an A, bless u.

$110 for pearson and textbook, if you are extremely lucky he will make the midterm a take home test, otherwise you are screwed. Does Not teach and tests are extremely hard. Literally walks in and reads the slides then leaves doesnt even say Hello. Belittles you for asking question, worst professor/teacher i've ever had, avoid like the plague.

Very intelligent and passionate about Economics but unfortunately he expects the same from his students. You're graded on three things: Midterm (33.3%), Homework (33.4%) and Final (33.3%). Homework is on Pearson and it takes a good hour plus to do, with one attempt per question. Both tests are extremely hard and are 100 questions.

Nice man, passionate about econ, and has the potential to become a better professor. Classes are poorly structured; it should be an affirmation of our reading but he often rushes through powerpoint slides - and still does not end class on time. Does not go over homework, no practice in class. Great guy, not the best professor.

I'm sure he's a smart guy. But he's a terrible teacher. He will often interrupt students before they are able to finish asking their questions and have such an overbearing tone that students won't seek clarification, even though the answers he gives are not what the student is asking. He's passionate about economics, but that doesn't help me learn.

Professor Owoye is very intelligent and passionate about economics, but believes his students are as well. Go to class everyday and listen carefully. You will read exactly what he taught in class and will be a helpful refresher. You are graded on your homework (which is an easy 90%), midterm and final. Respect him, listen to him, & do the homework

Also DONT BUY THE BOOK, he has alot of slides but you honestly dont need to just buy the access code to MyEconLab, since it literally give you access to the book. He has an accent that isnt too bad but is still there so be aware.

Econ major, but Owoye is one of the best. I found the courses i took with him to be three of the most challenging, but rewarding courses i ever took. Go to class and get involved in discussion, even if it's hard. Take the time to talk to him both in class and out. He's human and recognizes when someone cares and tries to learn difficult material.

Very bad teacher he gives us a lot of homework, and reads straight off the slides. He doesn't explain anything and when we ask him to explain he just makes you feel dumb and says we should know this it's EASYYY!!

Good professor, he has a small accent, but it isn't too hard to understand if you pay attention. He expects you to be knowledgeable in basic algebra, and understand very basic concepts. This is college, not middle school. Don't expect him to hold you hand.

in my 4th yr, worst professor ive had at western. professor is incredibly arrogant and will belittle you for asking questions. seriously. like makes you never want to ask questions. on top of that assigns 50 question hour long homeworks each week. access code is $140 book not included! and the majority of class is him reading from a powerpoint.

Professor is really tough, very smart guy though. Do all of the econ lab assignments, especially early on when they're easier. Theres a lot, and they're really time consuming. They count for 33% of your grade, mid term and final count for the rest. Difficult tests, not enough time to finish them. Overall rough class, but I respect Owoye.

He lectures with wordy power points. Home work is online & is not posted on specific days. Professor does not tell you when homework is posted online. Tests are very hard. Must read the book bc in class lectures are not clear.

This teacher is absolutely awful. He wont give you any formulas and says you dont have to memorize them but you better know them. If you ask a question he makes you feel dumb and acts like hes answering your but he really just continues teaching and 90% of the time you cant understand a word hes saying. Awful teacher. Do not take if u value ur GPA.

The subject matter is definitely tough. Doing the assignments and studying for tests is a MUST. He always graded with a curve and that was a HUGE help. I didn't find his accent to be an issue at all, he was actually kind of funny with his examples and they helped make sense of it all sometimes.

Great teacher! I really dont understand all the negative comments bc I loved him! He is funny and his class was very interesting. He gives great examples that everyone can relate to. His accent really isn't bad either. All the people who wrote negative comments must be slacker students who want their grades handed to them easily

This man is disgustingly arrogant and condescending. He will not clarify anything for you and whether you study or not he will chose to believe you don't and your confusion is based entirely on your poor skills rather than his inability to teach. I took microeconomics over the summer at 8am, while i attended and studied a lot, i learned nothing.

Comment:
His tests are nothing like what he goes over in class. The good thing is it's all multiple choice so you might have some luck. He insults the whole class if you don't do well on his test and he has to curve. He can be funny sometimes but very insulting. He believes everyone should be economics majors!
