Hanson is a genius. One of the only professors I've had who will question students' input if it doesn't make sense (when a lot of profs will just nod their head and move on). Truly a great thinker across numerous disciplines who will present you with extremely challenging views. You will feel uncomfortable, and you will be forced to think.

One of the greatest professors George Mason University has to offer. Your marginal benefit will exceed your marginal cost by a substantial amount if you take Dr. Hanson. His papers make you think in a different manner. I have his final next week but I know it won't change my opinion because I'm me. Ok bye. Good luck!

This professor doesn't have a clear view of what he's teaching about. The syllabus he provides is obscure and the textbook he required is no hope to the study. He just talks in the class and you need to take down everything to pass the exams. When he gave out essay topics, there's even no a clarifying document for it which is really confusing!

Professor Hanson thinks himself is intelligent ans humorous but actually he is conceited. He refused to use blackboard but the information he provided on his website is very limited as a studying guide. He never gives notes or guides in class, you learn more about his own thoughts which I think is trivial than useful knowledge about law and economy

Great professor! Lecture based with 3 open book quizzes, 3 papers + 1 open book final. Don't be fooled, just bc it's open note doesn't mean its easy. You can use the textbook but a lot of the answers he's looking for come specifically from lecture. If you have questions go to his OH or email him-he's super helpful and genuinely wants you to do well

Health Econ wasn't bad at all. I'm not even an Econ major but I still pulled out with a B-. Just need to know how to write a good paper and you will pull out with a decent grade. Also, he loves class discussion.

Health Economics lectures were interesting. Many data handouts. He was picky on quizes, sometimes asking for unimportant information. Hard to think outside the box in the "opinion" papers, because he expected only what he had mentioned. Allowed participation, but would shut you down most of the time, therefore only the brave ones participated :(

This teacher very intelligent and tries to make you question the types of laws and the economic reasons for them. If you attend class and write down everything relevant (not the rambling of questions), you will pass the class. Everything is open note and book.

Incredibly intelligent guy. However, class attendance is mandatory if you want to pass his class as he doesn't use textbooks and his quizzes are completely based off lecture. Aside from quizzes, you write defended opinions. These can be a difficult if econ isn't a natural subject for you. All of his quizzes and papers are curved. Challenging course

He's a nice guy. Has a good personality and is easy to get along with. It seems that he is a fair grader - tests are open note and he grades on a curve. But his lectures are kindof all over the place - it's hard to know what he wants you to know for tests. He makes a lot of interesting points but doesn't connect them- it's hard to see his point.

Hated him at first, but I'm glad I took his class. He really makes you think outside the box for everything. It's so interesting to get a fresh perspective on every crazy idea. Papers were fun to write, just be sure to write as many econ arguments as you can. Come to class and take notes. No outside reading except class handouts.

Great professor if your interested in subject. Write down everything he writes on the board and skim the required book and you'll be fine(exams are open notes/books). For papers, just make as many economically logical arguments as you can think of and you'll get an A.

Good professor!! Challenges your thinking and status quo as you know it. People mistake his replying a question w/a question for rudeness but it's just to poke holes at your story (well intentioned) for you to see a different side - VS just telling you the different side. Recommended!!!

You don't need a textbook for this class at all. The only thing you need to do is to understand the handouts and take notes whenever necessary. Overall, I like this class. My suggestion would be that the professor could more clearly point out what we are supposed to know for the tests.

I got an A, but I would never take his class again for sure. He appears to be impatient when answering students' questions. Also You'd better not ask more than 3 questions. otherwise, he'd say he'd said enough.
