Comment:
Professor Wilson is so unorganized it actually begins to take a toll on your grade. It took him nearly 4 months to grade assignments so getting feedback on how to improve in the course is completely up to the student. His explanations often leave students more confused and he doesn't skip to the syllabus. He adapted fine to online learning.

The content that this course covers is interesting, but professor presents it in a way that is rather complex and jumps right into the lectures without providing a backdrop to allow students to understand what exactly he is reviewing and why it matters. In other words, he can be a bit unclear. Overall, nice personality & prompt in replying to email

So Intermediate Finance is probably the best class that Wilson teaches of the several that he does. The class is more or less purely quantitative with the exception of one paper and the quizzes work off a standard normal distribution with a B+ set at the mean. If you're half decent at Finance this class isn't too hard.

If you want to learn about corporate finance, DO NOT take him. All he talks about in class is the history of finance in general, but he expects us to know how to do numerical questions. We also had to write a 2,000-word essay for this class. His quizzes are very hard, and the homework questions do not help you prepare for it.

Okay so Wilson is really a nice guy and cares about what he's teaching but he's not clear with grades and uses a curve so broken that 93s and 94s become B pluses. He's also very bad about responding to emails and the lectures are incredibly boring and dry. Also his quizzes are beyond beyond beyond arbitrary and unless you memorize readings no luck.

An easy A if you put in effort. Exams are right from the old quizzes and finals. Lectures are very interesting but not relevant to exams. Nice guy who will really help you out if you have problems

- first few classes emphasizes on the historical background of finance. - need to write 2 long essays and several reflections - very late with handing back quizzes and essays. - lecture is very unorganized - lecture is hard to follow. lots of digression. - final is hard, midterm is substituted with several mini quizzes. DO NOT TAKE THIS

Horrible professor. Lectures are pointless, the due dates for assignments always change, and nothing is graded in a timely manner. Overall, class is simple as long as you just do the tedious stuff. Stay on his good said and it's an easy A.

He means well for his students, but cannot teach for his life. Deadlines are vague but flexible and his quizzes are harder than anything he does in class. His final is open note open book though, however it is long and most of the class goes over the 2 hr limit.

Professor Wilson is very knowledgeable, but this class is an absolute mess. Avoid if you can, but if you must take it, make sure to participate and that he knows your name. Also, study old quizzes/old finals in order to prepare for quizzes and tests. The textbook is basically useless, but the final is open-book, so having a copy can't hurt.

If you like to learn things on your own, then this is the class for you. While attendence is mandatory (sign in sheet each class), Professor Wilson is a useless professor and communicator. Study old quizzes for exams because they are nearly identical, but don't expect attending lecture to help you prepare.

Professor Wilson is not extremely easy, but if you attend office hours, ask questions and show up to class you can get a good grade. He offers double-sided cheat sheets for quizzes and also is flexible with moving quiz and paper due dates. Kind of quirky but very nice and notices students who try hard and ask questions!

Took his Intermediate Finance class spring 2012 -- the guy is super smart. Yea he's a bit quirky and has his ways but he cares about his students and is very accessible if you need him. Quizzes and exams were completely reasonable. All those hating on him probably aren't cut out for finance and should just stick to marketing!!!!!

Comment:
It is the worst class that I have taken since my freshman year at GWU. He is very unclear, often goes off on tangents and expects you to know the whole book. He often goes through 3 chapters in one class... It is somewhat inevitable that you will take the class with him unless GWU gets another professor -- but be prepared, it is not helpful at all.
