Great professor! This material and class itself are very straightforward. The exams are similar to the homework and lecture videos. Very organized class. Curves the tests.

I took the online acounting foundations class, and although I am no math or accounting whiz, the material was easy to understand and well presented. It was by no means easy, but it was very doable!

The course is very easy. Middle schoolers could pass but while it is an boring subject she was extremely boring. She treats the class like an assembly line and has her annoying kids proctoring. She let me fail with a 0 on an exam because I missed my section and came to a different one because of consistency but let another girl take hers.

Didn't have to go to class she uploaded her lectures online. Exams were only 10 questions which made me nervous but it wasn't hard material at all

Super easy class, I put in 2% effort and got 120% in her class. I literally do not understand how people can fail this class. Just watch the video lectures and do the homework and that's it.

This semester (Fall 2015) the class was hybrid - you had the option of taking it totally online apart from exams or going to class for face to face lecture. I went to lecture twice. Got a 97 in the class. She has great grade adjustments and is really fair. Prepare to use your clicker for exams.

Jean Lacoste is one of the most knowledgeable people I have come across here at Tech. She created a system where you can not show up to class at all and still do well. She made lecture videos that are posted online that you can watch in place of going to class. She is also super helpful if you go see her during her office hours.

Comment:
The material is irrelevant & idiotic. It's basically a basic Excel class w a scoop of Access on top. Pure fluff. Tests are poorly worded & will include examples from class. Quizzes are copied from text; her time limits guarantee that you have to skim the chapters beforehand. Project was easy w extra credit. Tossed book in trash.

I am surprised that Virginia Tech would hire a woman who has no consideration for her students. From taking this class it gave me a horrible taste in my mouth about the university. She should be ashamed in herself, she is only out for the students worst intentions.

There's a quiz every Wednesday. As long as you readtake notes on the chapter, you should get at least 810. She's really not as awful as everyone makes her out to be. A nice and humorous woman and tries to help you understand. Come to her if you have questions.

She thinks she has to be so tough and comes off as rude and couldn't care less about students. Very turned off from my major b/c of her. She refuses to round even if you are above the .5 of a percent when rounding should happen. She doesn't care if you go to every class it doesn't get considered.

Class is not too difficult. There will be 5chapters per test and 11 questions so you have no clue what to focus on. She will NOT round like every teacher which is ridiculous,if you get an 89.9999% she refuses to give the A- even if you never missed a class. The projects take a lot of time $ count for little. One bad test and your grade is ruined.

Good overall, class was a fairly straightforward, intro to information systems, ppt, excel, access, etc. However, Lacoste should probably be teaching grad, she sometimes over-complicates things. Go to class, take good notes and youll be fine

This class is much easier than everyone makes it out to be. Go to class! The professor explains everything you need to know, reviews reading assignments and answers any questions. Also make sure you read the textbook, it is partially written by the Prof and has info in it that is directly on the test. Class is easy if you read and attend lectures.
