Warners is awesome! He is super nice, like a jolly giant. Lectures are interesting, which is saying something because he made statistics an interesting topic. Everyone should take Warners at least once.

Prof Warners is a great guy who's super passionate about what he does. Be prepared for TONS of worksheets with TONS of questions (it's not difficult, just slightly tedious). You'll learn a lot while not having to go to lab (woo hoo!)

I love Dave Warners! Whenever he lectured, I could feel his love for the topic. I could listen to him speak about science for days. Exams are difficult so studying, reading, homework, and questions are a must. He curved the most difficult exams and can answer any questions you have related to science or whatever during his office hours!

Warners is one of the nicest profs I've encountered. Genuinely wanted me to succeed. He really cares about what he teaches. Tests from him are lecture heavy. Genuinely willing to meet with you outside of class so that you can go through concepts. Sometimes the lectures were a little scattered but he is just a very nice guy.

Warners is a solid prof. His lectures are usually very interesting, since he shows enthusiasm, makes the occasional joke, and he brings in plants/fungi to pass around. The class is medium difficulty, but you should be aware that DeJong and him include specific, real world examples of the concepts we discuss in the lectures, so memorize them.

I studied a lot for every test that we had and still did bad in this class because he was pretty unclear about what to study and what would and wouldn't be on the tests. I did really well in high school with a high GPA but am really struggling in his class.

Dr. Warners is a great professor. He is SO passionate about botany and what he teaches, but he is extremely disorganized and grades hard. I have gone in for his office hours multiple times and he is always interested in chatting and discussing faith + science. He definitely opened my mind about faith and evolution. Tests are hard and specific!

His tests are very specific, which makes them really hard. However, he is super approachable and is always willing to help you understand the material if you ask him to. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone. He'll make you work hard but you will definitely learn a lot.

I took him for Bio 160 (Fall 2015). He's a really nice guy, but his tests are super hard when they don't need to be. He never really tells us what we need to know. The outlines he gives out helps, but still is very vague in what we need to know, that it is actually frustrating.I don't really recommend him. If you want a nice, but hard prof, get him

Dr. Dave Warners is a great prof. and a really good guy. I would encourage everyone who has the opportunity to take one of his classes to do so. He is smart and absolutely loves plants. He his very helpful and understanding. His tests are tests, you need to study for them, this is collage. Overall great prof., one of my favorites.

Warners is one of the best Bio profs. 225 is not so great. His lectures are clear and very interesting, with constant examples from the world of plants (more interesting than one might expect). His knowledge of the subject is vast and very impressive. Plus, he's a wonderful person who's very invested in his students and always willing to help.

The bad: Unorganized. Look at his office some time. Holds class too long. His diagrams look like a child's scribbles. The good: He is hilarious. Has a downright scary fascination with plants. *Very* flexible due dates. You can turn lab reports in whenever you get done, even if its a week late. Probably my favorite prof. The class is hard though.

I 100% love this class! Of all my classes right now, it's the only one that's not mandatory, but the only one I don't like missing. If I was sick, I would still go to class because it's awesome. He's just an amazing prof. I wish everyone at Calvin could take this class! He's so helpful and I love his teaching methods. Very highly recommended!

I really don't understand why everybody likes this guy so much as a professor. He is a great guy with interesting stories, but his fascination with plants is almost frightening at times. His tests are ridiculous and seem to cover whatever he's thinking about at the time. He gives a review sheet, but only half of what is covered on the test is on it

Comment:
He's a really nice guy and really interested in his subject. However his teaching leaves a little to be desired. He never uses the textbook, so don't even bother. He tells you he doesn't want you to just memorize but then for his test you need just that, pure memorization but his notes are so unorganized their hard to study/memorize from.
