Interesting class, if you can manage your time- you will easily be on your way to an "A." Some people love this class, others it drives them crazy. Honestly, I'm one who wishes more classes were like this one! Socialism in the classroom- it's great! :-)

Excellent Professor. You choose your grade and what assignments you want to do. Very helpful, and will help you structure the class if you want to. One of the best professors i've had in my 5 years at calvin.

Amazing professor. Class was excellent! You choose your grade and how much work you want to do, when you want to do it. Love the approach! Classes are not very structured and you pretty much just talk about whatever and then write papers - which is great if you're a writer, like me. He's just a great guy and makes it easy for you to express yoursel

For being a communications professor, he is a terrible communicator... Don't get behind in the CP system: it's insanely hard to understand and is extremely pointless. The class is all busywork and no learning. Oh and be ready for tons acronyms with few explanations.

Loved the CP system, it's capitalism in the classroom! You earn your grade through hard work. Wonderfully invigorating idea. Nice guy too.

This is an easy class if you're diligent. If you're a procrastinator, it's challenging. This class is based on the number of points you get. If you have a crazy schedule, it's SO helpful to be able to essentially create your own syllabus. The actual class time is not all that interesting though - it's more conversational.

Great Prof. If people have a problem with his teaching style it is because they were too lazy to work for the Grade they deserve. He allows anyone to pick their grade, but they have to complete certain assignments to achieve it, putting the power in the hands of the student.

Really weird grading scale, however, very easy to achieve A. Good class because you can study what interests you, however, not much for class discussions.

You never discuss the readings in class, but that is what he tests on. All the busywork for CP's is annoying. There was no structure to his class, and he never really taught us anything. He is a smart man but doesn't pass on that knowledge to the class. NO GOOD!

Odd way of "teaching"...oh wait, he doesn't teach. Class is entirely up to you, which is good if you're independent, and bad if you're a slacker. I didn't learn much.

Prof. Fackler is the worst prof I've ever had. He's lazy and doesn't teach. His class is totally subjective and works to maginalize students who don't want to work on it all the time, even if the work they do is solid work. He doesn't teach. I want my money back.

352 requires a ton of busy work. I found his grading method to be detrimental because he basically allows you to slack off whenever you want (and then pay the consequences). I have mixed feelings. The class was good overall, but I definitely would not have taken it if it wasn't in my major.

Really easy class. You write papers all the time, but they are rarely read very closely. There is a lot of work, but get it done early and there is no final for you!

You will never forget whether you were 352 A or 352 B. Don't plan to add many CPs via TOKs. The class is super easy, but there is a great deal of work required. You get to pick your own grade, but if you miss 88 by even 1 CP, you'll drop to a B+.
