He seems like a nice guy; however, his teaching method and his lecturing leads it to be a difficult class. Tutoring also did not help with this class.

OH MY GOD! I have never taken a class as difficult with a more infuriating professor in my life! I understand his want to have a "reversed class" meaning you do all your work outside of class and barely discuss worksheet answers in class. He does not make himself available. If you can, take MICRO somewhere else!

he is the worst professor ever. he basically talks about powerpoint and does not even make us understand things. we do exercises in class but that only occupied for small portion of test.

He is much better than people on here give him credit for. Yes, it is hard. I barely got an A, literally one point away from a B. You HAVE to put the work in if you want an A, but it can be done. Do everything he assigns even when it's not worth credit. He gives you so much material to help study. I could go on saying good things if I had the room.

His powerpoints are not long, which is not good. He is difficult to follow. He assigns worksheets that are not for a grade, but if you do not do them you will not understand how to do the problems on the test that you have to work out. The only grades are the tests and extra credit from the econ videos he assigns, which there are not many.

Took 2 upper level econ classes with him. Does a very poor job of explaining the material. By the time he gets done with his 20 minutes of rambling, everyone is so lost we don't even know where to begin asking questions. When we clearly don't understand the material, he gets upset that we're not getting it.

He is tough. If you don't want someone to actually teach you economics and just want to stick to what common sense and the media tells you about economics, don't take his class. He requires you do your part in studying and understanding the material. If you do, he will help. His toughness has helped me study for teh rest of my classes.

Dr. Collier took over this class for another professor who passed away. He is intelligent but is not personable. Grading is very hard but seems fair when feedback is given, however this is rare. For instance, on my final writing assignment I received only 2 comments on the entire paper. He stuck to the syllabus and course schedule. Do not recommend

I didn't enjoy this class. He was very arrogant and required that we read chapters 3 or 4 times to understand material. But he didn't teach out of on e specific chapter at a time. I wouldn't recommend him.

I took Econ because it was required. I took 2 additional Econ classes because Dr. Collier made it interesting. There are no automatic A's with him, but he makes an A attainable if you want one and study to earn it. I was never bored in class because he is so intelligent that he shares info with a highly entertaining and understandable style. LOVE!

As an econ major, this is undoubtedly the toughest class you will have to take. Having said that, it has far expanded my comprehension skills for any sort of econ theory. Heed everything that Dr.Collier says and test him a time or two he's pretty funny and easy going. He has a PhD from a top economics program and was privileged to learn from him.

Super Smart!!! Knows what he is doing. Very nice and willing to help. If you don't study his help might not be helpful because you didn't do your part.Do all the worksheets and ask questions and you should do fine. Don't write notes on what is on his slides, take notes on what he says. Read the book for exams and study worksheets.

AT first he frustrated me, but after taking three of his classes I feel he made me a better economist. You may not receive an A in all his classes, but i can promise if you really care about learning economics he is the guy to take. As an advisor and a professor he is good he tells it like it is and is straight foreward.Like to learn take his class
