Its TIME CONSUMING! You learn alot, but its very independent. He'll help only during class hours. He's nice but can be a bit of a pain when needing help/questions or clarity. From the class you'll have a once in a life time experience. its hard work and you better be willing to WORK WORK w/ LOTS of effort. misconception- jewelry making = easy.

Jim will respect you if you have respect for metals. Be involved, come prepared, keep a sketchbook (he LOVES looking at anything and everything), and always have your book handy. He's willing to help and knows what he's doing. Loves if you mention you came in during studio hours. All in all, one of the better teachers I've had.

I think the class is great if you want to work with metals. I think what ppl dont understand about Jim, is that he wants you to really learn how to do stuff before u can do what u want (what studios are for) He also likes to see good craftsmanship. I reccomend the class if u like that type of thing. But dont take it if u are a slacker.

he is actually the rudest teacher ever. he makes you feel like a complete idiot when you ask questions or do something he doesnt reccomend. sucks that you have no choice but to take him if you want to take metals. he doesnt let you do what you want to do he makes you do what he wants you to do.

He's kind of an uptight person, but the class is fun if you're interested in learning about metals. He will help you if you're stuck on a certain aspect of a project, and definitely knows what he's talking about, but he's not the friendliest.
