Comment:
Dr. Maxwell had some dry lectures (it's tough to make some of the content interesting) but he was extremely available outside of class and was willing to walk me through anything I didn't understand. He responded to emails within a few hours. Tough grader, but gives good feedback.

Dr. Maxwell truly is one of those rare profs where you show up to class even though you don't need to, just because he cares about teaching. And it shows, since his lectures are straightforward, his grading is fair and he's very down to earth and easy to talk to. The NucE minor is his own personal program and I can tell already it's gonna be great!

Great professor, helped with project, explained stuff in a way that would make sense, help us with anything we were having trouble on. Great person to get to know and talk one on one with and has a good sense of humor.

Easily one of the best professors at Iowa State. His classes are neither too easy, nor too hard and grades fairly. He has loads of supplemental material, and explains things very well. The textbook is excellent and well written. Wish I took more of his classes.

Maxwell is a real "hidden gem" of the M.E. department. He can grade rather harshly on assignments, but will help you understand the material if you approach him. He is super knowledgeable, helpful, a great lecturer, and supplements the material with handouts to clarify concepts. It was a real pleasure to take classes with Maxwell, I learned a lot!

The best professor I have had the pleasure of taking classes from at Iowa State. Is incredibly helpful with assigned homework and projects in office hours. He knows the material and makes an effort to tie concepts in the class back to things learned in other Nuclear classes.

Dr. Maxwell is awesome. He makes difficult material a lot clearer with real world examples and explanations. He really cares if you understand the material and will go out of his way to help you. I took a lot away from his class and look forward to future classes with him. He definitely proves that not all M.E. professors at IA State are bad.

Somewhat difficult tests, but he knows the material very well and teaches it excellently. Also, if you can find his old exams, the tests are not as difficult. I learned a lot from ME 231.

Great prof, always willing to help if you go to his office hours. Highly recommended. He kidded us and said that only half of us would fail the first exam...He was right (a wake up-call to make sure you stay up with the HW). Ended up with an A.

In a word: excellent. This guy knows the subject like the back of his hand. So clear that I didn't do that much homework or reading and still came out with an A. Just go to class and pay attention and you'll do great.

Not sure if Maxwell teaches 270 anymore, I took it a few years ago, but he did a great job and was very helpful. This class can really be awful if the professor is bad but he made it a lot of fun.

Greg Maxwell is a heckuva great professor. You can learn the subject matter very well, by taking a class from him, but you *must* keep up. He will let you know if you are not, though, and probably even offer to help, so do not despair.
