His class isn't a gimme, but that's how it should be. His class will keep your attention. He gives plenty of grades that will help your average. Shelly is easy to approach. My class was small. There is a quiz online before every class, but it keeps you accountable. the reading you do before each class isn't too much at all, maybe 3 pages at most.

I'm not the biggest fan of the material, but I don't mind this class. He's very approachable and if you have any questions or need help, I recommend you go to his office hours. He explains the concepts well in class. His tests can be pretty tricky, though. You'll definitely have to work for your grade.

Shelley is really nice and willing to help. Homework readings assigned for every class, upon which he thoroughly elaborates. His tests are a little absurd though. I usually do well with short answer tests but his are very specific, almost to the point of being unfair.

I went into Ethics thinking I was going to hate it based on what my friends told me but Prof. Shelley made it my favorite/easiest class! Lectures are really interesting- he focuses more on applied ethics (abortion, capital punishment, etc.) which is awesome. Tests are fairly easy. Easy A for me. Definitely take him if you get the chance!

Dr. Shelley is one my favorites! Even when the material gets hard he makes it easy to understand. Very helpful and gives great notes. Attendance is only worth 5% of your grade, but you won't want to miss the great notes he gives. Homework is easy and doesn't take very long.

Shelley seems a much better prof for lower-level phil courses, judging by his ratings.Though I found his aesth. course intriguing,he was a bit unrelenting in terms of the amount of workload and material for his exams. He assigned hw every class; exams were designed to test one's anaytical skills, not knowledge for material.Nice but rather arrogant

Ethics is possibly one of the most complicated subjects, but Dr. Shelley also shows you how interesting it can be. He really gets into class discussion. He will do whatever it takes to help you understand the material. He encourages students' opinions, and if they ever answer a question wrong, he never acts like they are stupid. Plus he's adorable

He's GREAT!!! I was really scared about taking Logic because I had heard it was extremely hard, but he's an amazing teacher! He'll explain things to you as many times as you need and he's always willing to help. There's hw pretty much every day, but not hard and it helps a lot. And he's so cute :) Study and you'll be fine! Take HIM!!!

I loved this class. I was very worried that I would hate Ethics, but he definitely made it bearable. He's willing to help and makes class interesting. Tips: Be sure to write down as much as possible from his lectures and memorize notes for tests. Do not be late or he will count you absent.

He's so awkward in a good way though, I enjoyed his method of teaching this course. He really wants to help you understand so go to class, do the homework (you get the points just for trying)and don't wait until the last minute to study. Get tutoring if you need it, whatever you do don't fall behind and you should make a B (leastwise)!

Prof. Shelley has been by far my favorite professor this year! TAKE HIM FOR LOGIC! Logic can be hard for some people, but for others it's a piece of cake, so it really just depends on the student. If you are having trouble, he is so helpful, and he NEVER dumbs down his students! And he's so cute in his own nerdy way haha

Dr. Shelley is a great guy and very fair. he tries his best to teach you the material in a way you will understand. I give him a lot of credit for teaching a course no one has taught before. His tests are all essays and tough. You've absolutely got to read to do well. Study and reread material. Fair grader on papers. Scales tests
