He's an amazing professor, however he doesn't prepare you for tests adequately. You have to memorize 150+ art slides for both the midterm and final and know everything about them including the dates - so the tests are VERY, VERY HARD and the essay questions are worse. Do not take this class unless you're obsessed with Baroque Art. Save yourself.

You won't learn more about Baroque art than you will from this man. He's hilarious, passionate and knows basically everything about Baroque. Just beware: He doesn't teach from the books, makes you memorize 100+ slides (including years painted) and doesn't give any type of study guide. So basically, the tests are crazy hard. But I learned a ton!

Do not take this class unless your are a Art history Major. No study guide for midterm and very unclear. For the mid term there was two essays. A take home and in class as well as question on slides and a questionnaire sheet.

Okay, I am totally confused to why people have wrote what they did about Professor B...he is the best AH professor ever. Cmon people, this is a 400 grow up. This is not grade school where your hand is held...getting out in the real world means, YOU have to adapt otherwise you will not succeed. Bordeaux is a world of info when it comes to AH

Doesn't lecture according to text. Won't need sculpture book. But Genius of Rome for 1st half of semester. First test difficult. Just write very long and in depth essays for best grade. No study guide. Paper 12 pgs ss. but he grades it easy. For Final he gave study guide that saved students backside. Difficult teacher.

dont take this class. He puts up 15+ slides a day, blabbers on about each one and says "this is important" to everything, so you dont know what to study for. Tests are extremely hard because they make no sense. Ex: Name the three most popular Greek Gods. I put Zeus as an answer and got it wrong. I told this to my mythology teacher. He laughed.

Most confusing scattered teacher I have every had. Doesn’t know the days of his own midterms and finals. Lectures are hard to understand and all over the place. His tests are hard and you don’t really have a clue what to study for. He assigns papers out of the blue and doesn’t explain what he wants in them.

Professor Bordeaux is the most passionate man i have ever seen. He loves art history and it shows. This class was so challenging i got an A only because i killed myself and went to every class. Hes a bit unorganized, note wise but he does not mind a tape recorder, which i would recommend.

I did absolutely nothing and got a B out of the class. He's very knowledgable, but the class itself is pretty boring(pure memorization). His term paper is also very long(4 pgs, SS). If you're up for a challenge, take him.

Very knowledgable. BUT, so much info to remember and he says that everything is important so its overwhelming. YET he is extremely fair and gives you a chance to right your wrongs. I bombed the midterm and still ended up getting a B in the class b/c he gave the class a chance to do extra work. Overall, I'd recommend him and this class.

Overall, there is tons of information to memorize from one single slide; the year, artist, name of art, and its importance. We are talking about 20 slides/day. To study for a midterm/final is almost like studying for 2 midterm/finals. If your working a full time job i wouldn't recommend this class.

Mr. Bordeaux is the best art history teacher ever. As long as you attend class every time or keep up with the reading, anyone can do well in his class. It can get boring at times watching countless slide presentations but overall it is very interesting. He is very knowledge in his field of art and has traveled the world to learn it.

The class is a total snore fest, slide after slide, evey class period. The funny French guy thing wears off fast. His midterm was too long to finish and we don't even know how many points it was out of. The high grade was 130, low grade was a 30. Also assigned a 4 page paper, single spaced, WTF? Smart and passionate, true but at a cost.
