Doctor Knapp is a great professor, even though his class is hard. As long as you read the assigned material, do your homework, show up to class, and reach out to him for questions, youll succeed. It is possible to get an A or B in this class if you do what he asks. Hes awesome and works well with his students.

I took this professor 2 semesters ago for Freshman English I. My sister has a Masters/English and she helped me with grammar and stuff. I ended up with a C in his class because of one paper. It was persuasive with a counterargument. He didnt agree with it. It had no problems other than he didnt agree. So I got a C in the class. DO NOT TAKE!

Enjoyed it the first part of the year. Was good prof. but once you couldn't withdraw from it, it got hard. He graded tough. He told me I had a good argument on the rough draft and then gave me the grade for the paper and said there was no argument at all and gave me an F. Not okay. Never taking him again! Good luck if you take him.

Dr. Knapp is by far the most flexible professor I've ever had and will help you in anyway he can (letting you still be in charge of your own paper). He does do lecture type teaching but I've never been bored in his class. He tells stories to break up the lecture and I love it. His assignments aren't easy but if you listen to him you'll do fine.

Absolutely need the book and need to read and ANNOTATE! He's a very great professor. Leaves great feedback and gives amazing advice on how to do better. Very structured classes and lets you know exactly what is going on. The exams are tough but if you read and pay attention it will be much easier. Tells you exactly what he expects. Do the homework!

He is an extremely critical and he is a hard grader. However, there is absolutely no reason to fail his class. If you are having difficulty go talk to him and he will walk you through it all and offer advice. Make sure you take that advice. Show him that you are trying and that you do want to make a good grade and you will.

holy ft?? This class is beyond ridiculous. I'm an English Literature major and from being in this class, I no longer want to be in this field. Dr. Knapp, although very brilliant, is rude and over analyzes everything. I've never failed a class in my life, but I have a F-D right now. I no longer have any motivation for this class anymore.

I took Dr. Knapp for Freshman Eng 1 and 2, and World Lit II, and while his classes are not easy, he is brilliant, and he will work with you like no other professor I've had. You have multiple chances to revise papers, and improve your grade. I haven't made lower than a B in his class.I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Best teacher I think I've ever had. Its a difficult class and you'll have to work for your grade, but more than worth the effort. He's off-beat and funny; encourages discussion, but doesn't tolerate texting or foolishness. I felt very free to express myself and ask questions.

I was excited to take World Lit II but once I was in that class I dreaded it. Dr. Knapp acted like a pompous idiot. Very rude and never let us ask questions nor give us time to ask questions. Some are in love with him, I personally couldn't stand him so I had to drop the class. His way or the highway.

I took Dr. Knapp back in 2002 or 2003, and to this day he is one of my favorite teachers of all time. He even helped me with a paper I had to do for another teacher who was not as awesome as he is. To this day, I love Goethe's Faust thanks to this teacher!

Dr.Knapp is a great teacher. His class is hard, but if you pay attention and ask questions he will help you. He is a no nonsense teacher, doesn't put up with texting or fidigeting. He is overall a good teacher. You don't ever use the reference book so don't bother buying it. Be prepared to learn a lot in his class!
