Took Prof. Mazur this past semester for MAT 146(previously MAT 142) independent studies. She is a tough, no nonsense grader. However, if you are trying to actually learn how things are done, she is perfect. Her problem sets are harder than the tests, so master those. Really work thru the problems. Her class will prepare you for MAT 191. Gives E.C.

Mazur is tough love. Will extend Webassign homework due dates if asked. MAT151 goes FAST/need good math skills. Can work together on problem sets. Do both the study guide questions & extra review problems. Doesn't use the textbook but I found it extremely helpful for extra practice problems. USE DESMOS TO CHECK YOUR ANSWERS GRAPHICALLY, TRUST ME.

I am someone who enjoys math, but this professor made me hate it. I took a math course with her online and she was not helpful in any way. I consistently asked for her help on understandings various topics and she referred me to the internet for support. When she graded my papers it was as if she enjoyed ridiculing my mistakes. 0/10 rating.

Professor Mazur is awesome! I was nervous about taking a pre calc class online, but she makes it easy! She posts multiple resources online for every section, every assignment has a few extra credit points that can really help, read everything! Everything is posted very quickly, and her grading is spectacular to know where you went wrong.

Professor Mazur is tough-love, which is exactly what I need from a teacher. She makes sarcastic jabs at you but will compliment you once in a while if you really impress her, and respect her. You just have to laugh off what she says most of the time; don't take it personally. She isn't patient unless you try. She'll be by your side 100% if you try.

She will set out lots of small extra credit (not actual work, mind you) and will expect you to learn quickly. Doesn't give make up work, doesn't accept late work, will speak to you harshly and directly.

At first I didn't like her as a teacher but then when I fell behind in the class she stayed with me the whole time and pushed me to catch up. I ended up finishing all the work just in time for the final and passed the class. Great teacher if you ask for help she is happy to give it.

There is so much unnecessary work that is a waste of time, essential to passing. The hw is all out of the text book, while her test are her own questions. The problems are much more difficult than anything seen before. Tip: Make sure you read every word of her lengthy directions before turning in any work.

I think Prof. Mazur wrote most of the good reviews here. For a lower level class, there's way more work than necessary. By itself, the course would be fine, but she adds worksheets and quiz questions that were never covered beforehand, and adds some crazy deadlines to top it off. Did not have the impression she was setting the class up for success.

She's very tough, but if you work you will learn the material. You'll use the textbook for the online portion, but she writes her own problem sets for tests and additional homework, and that makes them much more difficult than what is presented in the book. If you need help or are confused about something then you need to ask. Get graphing paper.

Great math professor. She wants to help, she wants the students to do well. She is a no nonsense kind of professor, she doesn't allow herself to get pushed around. She sent encouraging emails and is always willing to help. I would take her again.

Prof. Mazur is a great teacher. I took her trig class online and she was always available to help and even set up a study session with me before the final exam. It was not an easy class and there was a lot of work, but you'll do well if you can keep up. She really cares about her students and wants to help you succeed.

BEST TEACHER EVER! Took MAT-142 online, expecting some difficulty, but Prof Mazur makes Trig so much easier than you'd expect. She responds to e-mails fast & with great detailed explanations. Always checks on students and makes sure they are getting it. She's always available, and actually seems to want her students to succeed. Highly recommend!

I took herpre-calc/trig online and got an A. She is super helpful, offers tons of extra credit (I mean, TONS) and is probably the most organize and effective online teacher at AACC. The problem sets are hard, but they really help you learn the material! You'll be well prepared for calculus after taking this class.

Shes a good teacher and knows what she is talking about, but man her lectures are boring. Its very hard to keep your mind on subject during class. she makes calculus that much more difficult. the only reason I keep caught up is the fact that ive taken this class before in high school. she is helpful with homework but grades harshly on tests

She's great. She offers lots of extra credit and is willing to extend the deadline on almost any assignment. She's definatly old school but she knows what she's talking about and how to teach. Basically take her class if you want to really understand calculus.

She was horrible. She does offer to help you if you need help but her teaching skill is very dry and hard to catch on to. Her grading is very harsh, she doesnt give you points for attempting or even if you have part of the answer right. Ive never met another instructor like her. Dont take this class with her. If you do you will regret it.

This professor made class just so much more miserable than necessary. Her sour attitude made you not want to be there. I'm pretty good at math but for the people who do not have a knack for it, I feel sorry. Take her class if it will be one of your only classes and you have lots of time on you hands. Because this is definitly a time consuming one.

It is almost impossible to pass this class without any prior knowledge/ experience in Calculus. If you were to ask her for "help" she would snarkily suggest you should know the material then give you some wild goose chase to find this "method" of solving a problem and is too stubborn to give you full credit on a right answer b/c it wasn't "exact".
