Gentry is a great professor. I absolutely hate statistic and would not have taken the class if it wasn't required, but he does his best to make it much more appealing to psych students. The combo class is the way to go. Attend class, take good notes and you will be just fine.

Fantastic teacher. He is so clear and thorough. You can tell he really thinks about how to teach the material. Difficult, a lot of material, but really, really worth it. Take the combo class!

Great teacher. He explains everything very well and makes difficult concepts easy to understand. I recommend taking the 250 combo class b/c you knock out two PSYC requirements in one class. Easy A if you go to class.

This class was hard, but worth it. You will learn more in the combo class than you will learn taking the classes separately. Tests every week, but if you study hard, it'll pay off. Highly recommended!

Took over Maymester; keep up with reading, book makes everything a lot clearer. Drinks a lot of caffeine so tends to move quickly, but interesting. Be prepared to work and study!

Really smart guy who likes what he teaches. Tests are hard and hes wierd about reviewing. An easy B but a hard A. The combined methods and stat class is really good if you want to get everything out of the way, you go everyday and that helps more than anything.

Had him for the PSYC 211/220 Combo Class: you're going through material that you would normally be covering in 2 semesters in just 1 which makes things more difficult. However, he tries to make things as easy as possible: I actually understoond the stats this time around (as opposed to MATH 104!) It's hard, but you'll be better off in the long run

He's a very sweet man, but don't be fooled by his simple explanations in class. He expects you to know the material. If you're one of those people that can easily memorize formulas and essay questions, this is the class for you.

Comment:
Does not follow the book formulas, which causes confusion. Over simplifies the examples in class and then creates extra complicated problems for the test. The test content is a mystery The course content is not hard--seems to enjoy making the course difficult for no apparent reason. Ask as may ?'s as possible...

It was a growing experience being in that class but he was not an effective proff. He is probably great in his proffession but he expects that everyone knows as much as he does and he is unwilling to deal with students that need a little more understanding. It's a tough class, take this proff at your own risk and work your butt off!

Makes the material very interesting and applies it to everyday life. Make sure to read chapters and attend every class. He always welcomes questions, so if you're not sure about something ask, because it will probably be on the test. Make sure you use the book's companion website for study help, he gets some of the questions from there.

He is a GREAT professor! I really learned alot in his class. His tests come straight from what he says in class, so if you are there (and paying attention) you shouldn't have much trouble.
