Having not taken a college course before I was so nervous to go back to school. Professor Roe takes her time and really wants you to succeed. If you do your homework and make an effort she will be great to have as your Professor. I would highly recommend her class.

She was such a good teacher! She was clear with her criteria! Everything was simple and straightforward. No tests besides midterm and final. Assignments were based off of reading and answering questions. If you do the work its an easy A!

Shes so sweet! Everything we did felt like it had purpose, no busy work. Daily journals on current events were my favorite. She incorporates meaningful topics in lecture and is extremely clear when explaining new topics. She grades fairly and actually reads your work!! Plus she sometimes brings baked goods :) I enjoyed coming to class.

Professor Roe has by far been my favorite. She is caring toward her students and always has a positive attitude. Her lectures feel like they are getting the point across, without dragging on; and I go home feeling like I have actually learned something. As long as you take decent notes and do all your work, this class isn't difficult to pass.

Professor Roe is seriously the best professor I ever had, she has helped me improved my writing a lot. Attendance is mandatory as every class meeting there is a journal, that cannot be made up. Her class is a lot of work, but isn't hard after all it is a College writing class. If you show up to class and do the work you'll pass with an A.

I love Professor Roe! She is kind and sometimes even funny. She will never force her own views on her students, instead, she gives the entire class to speak for their own views. Professor Roe assisted my writing skills more than any other English teacher. If you apply yourself, you will learn and have a good time as well.

She's a really good professor and is very passionate about what she teaches. Also, she is very clear about what she wants in essays. We write 5 essays and do homework in a notebook. She does two notebook checks and tells you beforehand. We get to use an index card on the exams, but the exams are super easy! Just know how to explain the concepts.

Professor Roe is one of the best professors I've ever had. She cares a lot about her students & is always available to help. Theres a book and a reading packet that you need in order to do the homework. She checks notebooks/hw twice a semester. She lets you have a 3x5 cheat sheet for the midterm & final. She's a great professor & is one of my favs

I adored Professor Roe! One of the best professors to take for an English Class! She helped me write essays much more effectively and gives us good feedback on them. Youll get to use a flashcard for the midterm & final which was super helpful! Professor Roe & Adams are indeed the top professors to take at SCC dont be hesitant to pick either (-:

Very nice, understandable, and replies fast. She lets you use a cheat sheet for the midterm and final! She tells you what is on the tests. You do have homework every class yet they are extremely easy! She wont check if you did your homework till midterm and final, so just do it when you can, but have it ready by those times. She offers ExtraCredit

Honestly, one of the best teachers I ever had for English. Professor Roe is truly amazing she guides you and is always there with great feedback and wonderful with the way she teaches. The last English class I took was 20 years ago. Professor Roe made this transition comfortable and yet challenging. Comfortable with her approachable demenaor and challenging with the assignments. Her grading criteria is clear and she explains all assignment in detail. If the opportunity comes up, take her class. She makes cookies too.

Best Teacher Ever! I thought I was a writing pro, but she found the little grammatical errors. she made me a better writer, which is a skill that will be used for the rest of my life. she shows you how to write different types of papers. her test are not insanely hard, just be in class and you will be fine. and she has Extra Credit if needed :)

I would absolutely recommend Professor Roe's class to anyone! I took her this past fall for Eng 101 and she is an amazing teacher. She really takes the time to help you with learning how to write certain essay structures and provides plenty of helpful examples. She is a sweet teacher that cares about the success of her students! Take her class!

Great teacher! I took all my English classes with her. You will need to do the homework! There are notebook checks but they are easy! She tells you exactly how to format the essays. good grader. Very enthusiastic about English! Definitely recommend!

Professor Roe is the best english teacher hands down! I took her 8 week summer class and it was a great experience. She really guides you through every essay and the process involved. Journals every class are fun and she allows us to discuss our opinion. If you can take her, you definitely should!
