Dr. Cratty is a great instructor! I appreciate how he replies to emails very quickly. Regardless of what my question is, he always answers it. In addition, he is not a tough grader and will always leave great feedback on your work. This class is interesting and informative; it changed how I listen to music. You will never regret taking this class!

Dr. William Cratty, Professor is the best ! His class is well organized. I know what to read and what assignment was next. I like the grading structure shown. The key is read, take your quiz each week , finish the assignments,don't slack ,and you will do great in his class. I highly recommend this professor !

I took professor Cratty in the summer and his class was honestly easy I recommend you take him. No textbook is required to buy he provides you with the reading you need. Class is based on assignments, discussions, and tests but they're not hard just do the reading and you'll pass!He responds to emails so if you need help don't be afraid to ask him!

Online world music class that was fun, but stay up on the readings for the quizzes. Nicely paced/not too much work at once. Professor Cratty seems pretty easygoing and fair. I think this course helped me learn about other cultures through music and I realized we are all more alike than different. Music is a universal connector!

The result of this course is that I really hear what I am listening to and am able to pick out all the qualities of music we studied such as form, melody, texture, timbre, rhythm and dynamics. Songs that I have listened to many times before now take on new meaning and I find that I am totally involved in the piece and enjoy it so much more.

In all honesty, I chose this course because I need one more Arts & Humanities class to receive my bachelors degree at the university Im currently attending. However, after actually learning about the material in this class I found it to be very fun and interesting. If your're still trying to check the Arts & Humanities box off take this course!

I can't think of another class where I have genuinely learned as much as I did in this one. From how much music impacts cultures all around the world to understanding the types of features that form music, such as rhythm and timbre. Dr Cratty is very active on the discussion board and easily accessible by email. All assignments are clear and fair

I loved this class, I learned so much about different cultures of music, and it wasn't that hard of a class. This teacher was great. He gave good feedback and participated in class discussions. And he emailed back in a timely manner. Overall this is the best music I have taken so far.

I really enjoyed this class and Im glad I chose World Music as my returning to college course. I think its wonderful that I can hear a song and learn its roots and its influence in our world. This class made me a better listener and a better musician. Thank you professor.

Word Music was both fun and insightful. I now notice a lot more in music and have more appreciation for its cultural context, so I feel better prepared and more interested in learning about music from different places. Just takes a bit of reading, writing, and listening to do well. Highly recommended.

Professor Cratty was a wonderful online teacher have, he really cares about your progress in the class and just email him! This course showed me that all people of the world are connected through music. Even though politically, ideally, or culturally, we may not agree, we can find the beauty in one anothers music that keeps us connected.

This class has been more enlightening than I thought, it has taught me to enjoy music in new ways. Broadened my horizon on musical cultures I had not been exposed to. I really love folk music, and it got me interested in Mayan folk music as well. I thought the Silk Road was very interesting, and in my opinion one of the important parts of history. However, I never saw history had such an impact on music, and vice-versa. This Professor has a very diverse class, and definitely non-eurocentric. Very interesting

This online summer world music course gave me greater insight on non-western music and its impact on a global scale. It taught me to appreciate music as a whole and not just the western music I grew up listening to on a daily basis. I feel more inclined to explore more non-western music types through each type of culture. Loved the class.

This class offers a lot of interest if you pay attention, and lots of room to broaden your knowledge of the history of music. Be wary of deadlines, though, because missing them will lower your grade by a lot. Cratty is great at responding to emails.

This online world music class was great, wasn't a fan of moodle but once you figure that out the course is a matter of skimming the text during quizzes and identifying pieces of music for the quizzes which can be done by using a phone. The material is simple and the work load is light, probably spent in total less than 10 hours for the whole term.

I took music 100 online and it was a great experience. The professor gives really clear directions just make sure you don't miss the deadlines! He's a really nice guy and very understanding. I definitely recommend this course!

This course exposed me to a variety of different genres of music that I had never heard before, widening my musical knowledge and aiding in promoting a deeper appreciation of it. Professor crafty is very helpful and prompt with the email responses which is so valuable in online classes. The material was clear and interesting and take this class!!
