I have taken 2 courses with him and he always outperforms himself. Very easy to work with. He enjoyed a long career in academics and he's happy to share experiences with his students to help them improve. Laurentian needs more profs like Ron.

Ron is a good guy, you just have to get to know him first, and allow him to get to know you. It is true that you will get a better mark if he likes you, it still requires work though. Ron is not afraid to tell you when you are wrong which pushes you to improve. I would take a fourth class with him and recommend him as you will get good experience.

Hard because he is an ~!@. Just think about it, you have to register to comment on this prof! I reiterate and concur with all the previous negative comments. My year was atrocious and he was the source. Terrible, terrible, terrible. And yes, I make a point of adding positive comments on this website for IMHO deserving profs.

It was years ago I attended his class. The only professor I remember really from LU... and that was for his ineptitude. I guess the years haven't changed anything. Very unfortunate for the school to continue to be lavished with his total lack of real world knowledge. Those who can't teach? Hit the nail on the head here........

Not impressed at all, took a subject I like and ruined it. Really dissapointed in his abilities. He might know the "Academic" procedures well, but students have to enter the real world, with real companies. And yes if he likes you he gives you bonus marks(just a fact), if he doesn't like you, you will suffer for it on every item to be marked.

hmmm... ron's a good guy, he is helpful and will listen to students, but sometimes I think he no longer cares - probably related to his heavy work load as comm director ... good thing he's done at the end of june (2005) and he'll be back as a normal teacher
