Comment:
Take this class if you don't mind a professor who teaches at 100 mph. His slides are simple and he doesn't even try to make complex topics interesting or understandable. He talks for the entire class and your chances to ask questions are slim. He is a brilliant man but maybe that's why he is not the greatest teacher.

Comment:
The grading and expectations for the class are super straightforward. Grading consists of quizzes , assignments and a final project. Quizzes are multiple choice and the lowest 2 grades are dropped. Assignments and final project can be tricky but going to office hours really helps. Lectures can be long and boring because the material is super dry.

Please don't take him for Gb213 if you have any other choices. He allows you to use computer for the exam, and that's making his tests lots harder than other professors'. His voice is soft, making it more difficult to focus in class. Slides are almost useless for studying.

Comment:
I am horrible at any form of math. I tried to pay attention but at 9:30 am it was hard, he is a little dry but it's math so I can't blame him. Study guides are helpful, tells you exactly what will be on the test. I still made some mistakes on exams which landed me with a B, but that was good enough for me. Take if you want to put in a little work.

Professor Grubaugh is really smart and really knows his stuff. He can go very fast in lectures and be confusing, but if you go to his office hours, he is very clear and extremely helpful. There are 10 five-question quizzes (drop the lowest 2), 10 straight-forward R assignments, and an encapsulating individual R project.

Comment:
This class is all statistical analysis in R which if you know how to use, it will be an easy A. For those who don't know R, beware because he doesn't teach any fundamentals. That being said, weekly quizzes & HW assignments, and a final project. Super easy grader & if you go to his office, he'll give you the answer. Very easy econ elective

Although he is not the worst, he surely isn't the best. As a person, he is very nice, but as a Professor, it's a bit different. He knows what he's doing, but sometimes the material is very difficult to understand. The only good part about the class is that there's barely any work, just study for the test watching videos online and you'll do good.

Professor Grubaugh's lectures are incredibly boring, but what can you really do, it's stats? There are four non-cumulative tests (drops the lowest) and the class beforehand he gives a word document telling you exactly what will be on the test and exactly how to do it. In office hours he is very helpful and explains very clearly.

Bentley must have talked with Grubaugh recently because none of the below reviews seem to fall in line with him. Spends a lot of time making sure students understand the topics, and only gives 4 exams that have identical study guides! Just study up on his guides and there's no way you can fail!

I learned after the first exam that I was better off not attending class and studying for the exams. He does not teach (well) and does not care if you do not show up. His first and last exams are super easy, but the middle two are tricky. If you can manage to do well on one of those two exams and do the homework, you will get an easy 3.3-4.0.

The class is not the most difficult; however, classes are definitely not instructive and when you go to future related classes, you will have to relearn everything. Not highly recommended

Yes, he drops the lowest test grade and lets you use a laptop for the test. But that's it. He does not teach , and the test are unclear. Even the power points he uses are absolutely unclear. Your laptop will not help with any of this. You will learn nothing about statistics from this class, and the way he teaches is frustrating.

Although Grubaugh gets a bad rep, he really isn't a bad professor. He is somewhat hard to understand but his tests are very simple. He even lets you use your computerexcel for the test which is amazing. Take him for the 4.0.

HORRENDOUS PROFESSOR, easily the worst professor I have had at Bentley. Talks faster than you can take notes down. Could care less whether you learn or not. Doesn't answer emails. Avoid at all costs

Nice guy and really smart but his lectures are incomprehensible. He tries his best, though. 4 Exams for 79%, non-cumulative, and he drops one, 4 assignments for 10.5%, and 4 sets of Connect problems for 10.5%. Honestly, you can do basically no work and get at least a 3.7 easily.

If you can teach yourself the material, easiest 4.0 in the world. Otherwise, I would avoid. Most incoherent lecturer with 0 social skills. But, he gives you a sheet before each of the 4 tests about whats on them. Tests are open-book and open-computer and he drops the lowest grade. I would take him again, easy but so confusing

Great professor, knows his stuff! Sometimes he is a little unclear but he usually explains everything very well. Four tests, drops the lowest one. Do the homework problems and you'll do well on the tests and in the class. He allows laptops and notes for the exams too.
