Worst teacher I have ever had. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Criteria for grading and homework was not clear, and she often confused us and herself. She would mark you as absent if you didn't talk. Another teacher had to grade our papers and give feedback because she couldn't, which confused us more. I dreaded going to her class. WORST CLASS EVER!

Vivian is a great person and really cares about her students but a horrible professor. She does not give any feedback/grades and always changes assignments. Our class tried to give her the benefit of the doubt because online classes can be difficult but it got so bad that our class had to go the department chair. We have other professors grading us

Vivian is wonderful lady and cares about her students, but she can get a little side tracked. Criteria for some papers can be a little confusing, so you will most definitely need to talk to her one on one to clear it up. She is totally open to extensions, just talk to her! She LOVES class input. She has only handed out one C in the past 5 yrs!

She is very friendly but NOT a good professor. You won't know what your grade is in the class and you don't do anything during class time even though attendance is mandatory. She also changes due dates constantly, she won't know who you are, she loses papers very frequently and you won't get any of your papers back until the end of the semester.

She will lose papers and she is super forgetful. She does not follow her syllabus and constantly changes deadlines. She will take months to grade assignments. The class is not difficult and she's pretty funny to watch, but you won't learn anything.

By far the worst professor that I have ever had. She didn't teach us a single thing throughout the whole semester, took 8 weeks to grade a 500 word paper (with no feedback whatsoever on the paper, only a grade). She is more focused on being your "friend" than a teacher, changing due dates willy nilly as well as asking us when things are due.

Takes forever to return grades, and despite making a syllabus NEVER stuck to it. She forgot what we were supposed to read each class, couldnt remember when we had exams and papers due, and made US choose when we had papers and exams due. Shes also almost impossible to reach outside of class/office hoursdoesnt send emails or post on canvas.

By far the worst professor I have ever had at this university. She did not give us a syllabus until week 7 in the semester. She changes due dates 10+ times and it takes her forever to return graded papers. Her objectives are not clear and her grading procedures do not make sense.

She is very knowledgeable about all things literature and definitely has a lot of passion for her work. She cares about her students, but never learns their names. She is very disorganized and takes forever to get assignments back to you. She goes off on many tangents during lectures.

This professor was horrible. I would not recommend taking this professor. She is so unorganized & did not give out the syllabus until the middle of the semester. We were not given very many papers even though this was an advanced class, so I did not learn anything from this class. The feedback received on the papers were unclear & not helpful.

She is an amazing lady. Absolutely awful processor, does not give clear criteria, always extends deadlines which is nice but gets confusing. She also cares too much about what her students think of her. She spends all of her lectures rambling about nonsense so there is no point in going to class besides for attendance.

Foss is very open minded, she does not stick to any schedule, so if you can't held a course that is different than this isn't for you. However, I loved her life stories and she grades super easy if you can prove that you read the assignments and you take notes for yourself while she talks in class you'll get an easy A

This professor is horribly unorganized. She takes attendance at almost every lecture but she never teaches useful information. I wish i would have never taken her. She complains about how much work she does, but hands our papers back to us with few comments. Dont expect to get papers back in a timely manner. She is very didactic.

Very disorganized teacher. Her rubric changes all the time. She LOVES to repeat herself for an entire semester. If you can take another teacher, you might get more work but they will make more sense than this teacher. She never sets guidelines and never makes anything mandatory, except attendance. She's not the ideal writing professor.

Genuinely cares about student success. Very approachable. As long as you read the stories, the assignments will be an easy A. She will write paragraphs of feedback too! As long as you participate every once in a while, you'll be fine. If not, she'll call on you.

She is very unorganized and her explanations on the assignments are never clear. She is a tough grader but gives you a chance to fix those errors. She is nice but sometimes comes on a little strong. There are two group projects and the first one made no sense at all. She takes forever to hand back grades. However, she will help you if needed.

Vivian is such a nice lady, but she should not be a professor. Don't take her syllabus serious because she changes it literally every class period, and you never know what to expect with class discussion. This class was women in literature and she constantly talked about her life in Maine. I did pass, but It was irrelevant and a waste of my time.

Foss is a conundrum. The first few papers I turned in were C's and B's. The final HUGE paper I half-assed and received an A-. This is still confusing to me but I'm not complaining! She is completely unorganized and unclear in her directions. She varies between teaching simple grammar rules and random environmental issues. Good luck!
