Comment:
I had Doolittle for Broadcast Journalism 1. He is very funny (although he doesn't know it) and is flexible with requirements/deadlines. While you do primarily teach yourself, he gives great feedback.

Pretty much the best class/teacher ever. Literally, the funnest class I've ever had. Doolittle is great, and very flexible for grading, and attendance, and life in general. Whoever gave this guy a frown face clearly doesn't like TV.

For broadcast journalism students...this is a great class. You learn a lot!!! Doolittle tries his best to help you understand, but sometimes he is unclear on what exactly he wants in an assignment.

Maybe he's better at lecturing, but he's not a good instructor - we all kind of taught ourselves. He's pretty reasonable though, so there's that.

He doesn't clarify what he wants on written assignments and often changes due dates orally in class.

His lectures are not related one bit to the material you are tested on...the material is from the book, which is an annoying purchase. Nice guy, but i'm more concerned about how boring the class is/is not and the grade i get.

Nice guy but assigns obsure assignments. Reading has nothing to do with class, but he tests you on it. Take someone easier for comm 100

The class-led discussions are a joke. You could almost get away with not reading but then he gives these obscure reading quizes. And his grading poilicy is so unclear and vague. You need to kiss up right away to get an A and talk a lot in class, even if it's complete bull.

You need to participate in class on a regular basis to earn the good grade. His exams are not hard at all, you will have to write a paper. Take someone easier for COMM-100.

He had everyone else in the class prepare the chapters to teach so that he didn't have to, and so you didn't know what was right and what was wrong... also i didn't really learn anything.

Eh... take it or leave it. Prof. Doolittle is very friendly and flexible, but his class discussions lack structure, direction, or purpose. Keep up with the readings in the text even though they have NOTHING to do with the class.
