The lectures are pretty tedious but you'll benefit from going and hearing the theme of each lecture. Provides study guide for all exams and as long as you actually learn the terms and practice the essay questions you'll get a good grade.

She lost my papers multiple times and will sometimes say things that contradict the textbook. Her notes are easy to follow and lectures are good, though.

I loved this class! She kept us interested in class discussions and taught the concepts well. She is also a fairly easy grader; the class only consists of 10 reading reviews and 2 papers. I'd highly recommend taking this class.

Not a hard teacher. All the notes come from what she says, but that is the hardest aspect of class. You get a study guide before every test and you can find sufficient information on the web to answer everything.

She is a really cool professor. I always enjoyed class discussion and she keeps things interesting and funny. She will say some things that you just wonder how she came up with it! Her class is not very hard, pretty easy grader, but you still learn a lot!

She's nice, well-spoken, and interested. My class was about globalization. Her political bias is a bit obvious though.

Wonderful professor - always entertaining, expansive knowledge of subject. Class was beyond enlightening: the entire history of sexuality in America! Tests half short answer / half essay, but not terrible if you study. There's 20-30p assigned reading (more when reading Gay New York) every class period, and it's necessary if you hope to do well.

Prof. Whites is a good professor. Her lectures are kind of scatter brained, but she provides outlines so that you can follow along. If you talk to her after class or during office hours she is nice. Tests are pretty straight forward: an essay and a few terms. (always a choice - pick 1 / 2 essays, 5 / 10 terms). The papers are also within reason.

I had Leenaa for HST 1200 and HST 3430. Shes a very passionate teacher, and her classes are both easy and fun. Her note presentation is always chaotic, but as long as you can translate them the rest of the class will be a really pleasant experience.

I had Dr. Whites for my Houses Divided Civil War class. Her perspective on the Civil War using the household and gender structure was a unique and very challenging way to view the war. I very much enjoyed her class, and admire her intelligence.

I had her for about 4 classes during the period 1994-1997. She is absolutely brilliant, one of the most eloquent professors I have had. She is also an accomplished author, having written several books regarding the Civil War and other topics

For a History 3 class, it was a little challenging...the recitation sections are absolutely pointless. Her lectures are about average.
