Tests are fair as long as you take good notes. No textbook required, straight to the point. Tests are true/false, you either know it or you dont. Keeps the class full interesting(only slept 2-3 hours and i was still invested). You don't have to like history to love the class.

Loved Professor Cruz! I truly regret not taking more of her classes before she retired because she teaches history in such a simple and interesting way. You will definitely learn so much from her, she does not stick to the book but more of her knowledge. Tests and assignments are easy. I cannot explain how amazing she is in her field.

Hist-12 / Asian American History: Easy to follow Powerpoints. Detailed lectures/examples. Lots of movies ! "Homework" is a quick 1 page double spaced paper about the movie. Easy True or False exams + she drops 1 exam with the lowest grade. Exams are open-notes. No textbook required :)

She's super funny and knows what she's teaching, a lot of what she says in class isn't in the book. If you show up and listen its an easy A.

Her power point lectures are very vague and you will have to listen very carefully and write your own information/notes. Can be very difficult to take notes because of her thick accent and doesn't make an effort to wait for students to write down, then explain. Regret taking this class.

Great class! She is freaking hilarious. Dont take her if you get offended easily because she has strong opinions and she voices them. Shes very knowledgeable and her stories are interesting. Shes an easy grader and theres MINIMAL work required. Just show up and listen.

Extremely intelligent. Very funny and entertaining lectures. Open book tests that are tricky, so you need to study. If you take good notes you will get an A. She works very hard. I took two classes with her.

I recommend to record the class. You won't learn much from just sitting there but that's all she gives you as she doesn't offer any of her lectures online and barely replies to emails. Everything she says has a chance of being on her 100 question test of true or false. Either you know it or you don't. But she is overall real nice and easy grader.

She is great at lecturing, she does have an accent but it's easy to get past, she give no homework doesn't require you purchase the book unless u feel u need it. And all her lectures are your notes there are no power point slides for you to copy so if u miss class you miss a lot of information. I loved her classes.

She is amazing! She is a bundle of energy, confidence, and fun. I looked forward to each class. She brings history to life in a funny relatable way. if you take lots of notes, do the extra credit, show up for class, and complete the assignments on time: you can count on a day in her classes. I took two of her classes. She is part of history.

Dr. Cruz is an amazing lecturer and easy grader. If you want a history class that is either entertaining or easy, take her. She has strict but very clear (and easy to meet) grading requirements and she drops the lowest test score. There is no reason you shouldn't have an A in her class if you show up and take notes (you can use them on the exam)

Dr. Cruz is a hilarious, entertaining lecturer who loves history. Her tests are all true-false and the first was very difficult but after that things became easier. The class does not require a textbook and there is very little homework and the occasional extra credit. She is an easy grader on the essays and helpful in office hours

Dr. Cruz is an excellent Professor. Her exams are all based off the lecture notes. If you want to pass, you have to go to class. She lectures the entire class time. I really enjoyed her class.
