Scot is a VERY knowledgeable professor, you would already know that since he handles the senior capstone sequence in WOU's CS department. I want to say he is caring, nice, and humble. When I struggled he helped. He is one of the reasons why I'm a Computer Science graduate today. Cheers to Scot!

Scott is a good teacher that really knows his stuff and tries to push you to do your best. He often extended assignments based on how far the class had progressed. However, in my experience, it's a total pain to communicate with him outside of class. If you send emails/slack pms he won't respond to them making it hard to setup appointments withhim

One of the best and interesting professors in the CS Division. Lots of assignments? Yeah, but by keeping up and doing your work on time, it'll help you in the long run. Expects the best out of the class and each individual. Would recommend 10/10

This class could've been 8 credits, but Scot did a great job at teaching it. There was just sooooo much homework. I would love to take another class from Scot to see how it works in a different class.

A solid professor, the senior sequence capstone starting with 460 is hard, especially if you're trying to take other 300-400 level classes at the same time. 460 has a moderate to challenging assignment due per week but Scot will always help during office hours.

This was by far one of the most work-intensive classes I have taken. I wish this was a two, 2 hour class instead of four, 1 hour class (if that makes sense). He seemed to be always rushing at the end to cover some important points about the assignments. Overall great professor, and if you put in the time and effort, you will definitely get better.

Dr Morse is the best thing that has ever happened to the WOU Computer Science department. Dr Morse guarantees success in students that are not afraid of doing hard work. His labs and homework are very hard, but they prepare you to dominate in the Computer Science field in the future. If you follow his advice you will learn astronomically.

Professor is one of the best in the department! Any class you take from him is going to be hard, but you will learn so much if you do the work, ask questions, and participate. You won't pass if you don't put in the effort, but more importantly you won't be a successful software engineer if you don't put in the effort. You have to make a choice..

Comment:
Great instructor, seriously knows his stuff despite his physics background. His homework and labs can be a bit vague, and asking him directly may not clear everything up. Homework isn't too bad, give yourself 3-4 days to go through each problem slowly and ensure you know how and why it works. Tests are brutal, labs are murder. WORSHIP THE CURVE

I really like Morse, he's second only to Broeg. His classes are the most dense with content, which is a double edged sword. It's very apparent he aims to self improve constantly. His expectations are high level for WOU's CS, standard for others. I think he gets too much flak, sometimes students get discouraged and half halfheartedly resign.

Likely the 2nd best teacher in the CS department after Broeg. Treats you like you know more than you do, so you have to stay on your toes as the learning curve is high. He tends to give a generous curve, so it takes the pressure off the grade a bit and frees you up to really learn the difficult material. Wish I had him when he was not dept head.

Dr. Morse is very helpful. If I don't understand the material, he doesn't hesitate to help, answers questions clearly and will make an appt to make sure you get it. Responds to emails quickly, will help with other classes as well. Treats us like professionals which I like, pushed me to new limits which is good.

I was required to take the class for my major but I'm not a computer guy. So, the material was a little beyond me at times. Although, he did a good job building up to harder concepts and explained things well. The class was interesting and I'd gladly take another class from him.

Very smart Physics PhD who is teaching CompSci for some reason. Upper division courses he teaches are very challenging and you cannot afford to miss class due to the amount of material covered. One of the top CS professors in the program regarding how much you learn from his classes.

A very good teacher. He will PUSH you for sure, he's certainly not an easy 'A' and expects a lot from you. You will learn a lot in his classes though. Grading is not so bad despite his hardness, he usually gives a pretty decent curve. Take him if you want to learn a lot. Nice guy too, a bit shy one on one, but a charm.

He reminds me of Dr. Drew and Anthony Edwards. Very intelligent. I found his lectures to be very clear, thorough and organized. In other words, he has his **** together, which is more than you can say for many teachers. He's kind of got an innocent down-home country boy thing going on. Sort of guy you'd trust to watch your house.

Great teacher. Knows the material and explains it clearly. Very friendly and willing to help. Tests and labs are hard, but he's a very fair grader (and curves most scores).
