Overall, an interesting class. Although Prof. Ciklamini has a tendency to often go off on random tangents, she is very knowledgeable in her subject areas and is able to convey her ideas well. She speaks clear German so that all of her students understand her and she is not a difficult grader.

She is an excellent professor. She knows what she's talking about and loves it; that kind of gives you an interest after a while too. She is also accommodating and helpful. If you have problems with anything, she'll work with you.

Very nice and clear, but does expect you to perform once you've demonstrated you're capable. Grading is not too difficult, but there's a lot of homework.

She's the best! She expects everyone to work to their potential. So if you are better at German than most others, don't expect an easy A. Go to office hours - she's very helpful, and she gives out grades for effort.

Very nice lady, but she is ridiculously old and should retire. If you're not very good at understanding German then you are in for a treat because she speaks very slowly, but if you can speak well, dont take her, she will single you out and make you work harder than the less experienced students.

Frau Ciklamini is the only professor in the German department who has the background in multiple older languages to teach the interdisciplinary Medieval German class. I learned quite a bit and read several epics (Tristan, Parsival) I otherwise wouldn't.

Very good teacher, very sweet, definitely knows what she is doing. She's willing to help you with just about anything, even on the exams. Class can be a little boring cause she talks so slowly.

Comment:
Frau C. is the worst teacher and a vindictive, mean and deceitful person. She should have retired a long time ago so people (her colleagues as well) would be able to study and work in peace. The German Dep. would def. be a nicer place without her.
