To start, Forrest is a really nice guy. If this were only about him personally he'd have 5 stars. However, as an educator, I find him extremely lacking. His accent can be difficult to understand, and his online tests only care about the answer, no partial math credit. "Do your best, and I'll take care of the rest" is his code for "I'll curve this."

Professor Wang is a very understanding teacher. He gives many chances at good grades but it is up to the student to put in the effort. All tests except chapter 7 were relatively easy.

Calc 2 is a hard class so expect to study and put in effort. This class is made up of homework and tests so you have to do good on exams to have any chance of passing. Noting this he will do his best to help and you have two attempts at each question of a test to see if you can get it right. I would take this professor for calc 3 in a heartbeat.

Dr. Wang is intellegent when it comes to Mathematics. When it comes to teaching, he doesn't do a good job at explaining the lecture topics. He expects you to have the concepts of Pre-Cal fresh on your mind for every topic and doesn't like answering question regarding calculations. As someone who aced Pre-Cal I regret taking him for Cal 1.

PLEASE USE PAUL'S ONLINE NOTES IF YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND HIS LECTURES. He tries to be easy going and will work in your favor IF you put forward the effort. However understand that his accent it might be hard to fully understand what's going on, especially since this was Calculus II. But he works in your favor if he sees you're struggling. :)

I really enjoyed Professor Wang. He is a strict professor, but this provides a lot of healthy structure that pushes you to do better and learn the material. He is very nice, and really pushed for student input to build critical thinking. He's a professor I wish I could've taken when not in an pandemic. Just pay attention, do the HW and you'll pass

This class is already hard as it is. He is a nice enough man but his accent can be very hard to understand. It gets worse when he speeds up. He can also be hard to contact.

Very intelligent man. Lectures are pretty organized, you just need to pay attention and really understand what's going on. Assigns homework after each section. Make sure you understand each problem type and how to manipulate the equations. It will help you succeed on tests.

Forrest knows his stuff. His accent caused me no problems. He is a tough grader, but he gives lots of ways to make a grade: Homework+Attendance+Quizzes+Tests. That means missing a single homework, or a single lecture won't affect the overall score. He expects students to know prior material, so don't ask algebra questions in a calculus class!

Dr. Wang provides clear criteria for grades on quizzes and tests. Do the homework, the assigned problems from the text, and the examples from the handouts. You have all the problems that could appear on the exam.

If youre naturally bad at math, this professor isnt for you. He has a very strong accent thats hard to understand and is worsened because he works/talks super fast through problems. Just copy every question verbatim from the powerpoints and memorize them, thats all that there is on the tests. If I had known that, Id have made an A...

I took Donglin Wang for both Calculus I and Calculus II. I absolutely loved him and his tests were pretty straight forward. The questions come straight from the powerpoint and as long as you copy exactly what he writes down when he does the problems in class, you will do well on his tests. Be sure to put in work because Calculus is hard regardless.

the hardest class I've ever taken. Every minute in the classroom was on the tests. The kids coming in saying they were going to fail tests were the ones not printing out the handouts, sleeping in class, or not showing up. Homework can be harder than test. Try your best. It's not easy. Students have failed this class multiple times with other profs

Extremely hard tests, even though all questions come from PowerPoint presentations/exercises. You can't use notes. Calc II is the hardest class yet, and his extremely heavy Chinese accent combined with how fast he goes makes it nearly impossible to keep up with lectures. Be warned: both he and the material are extremely hard to understand.

In the beginning of the semester he said "do you best and I do the rest" in each test he took a lot of points pretty much he gave me F in all of my tests when I talk to him in his office he said "I can't help you I can't do any thing against the department policy" then when he said "do you best and I do the rest" that was just a lie?
