Comment:
Professor Klimenko does care about her students and seems very nice. However, this class was a dumpster fire. I would not take it with her due to an unfair grading system. Students who choose to complete the final instead of the project still have to complete some of the project's assignments, which is pointless for them.

Quiz every week, a few discussions, and 38% of your grade is based on one final exam or a 8-10 page research paper. Do the paper because her exam averages are usually in the 40-50% range. Very nice, and understanding person, but not the best teacher or grader. Awful textbook, had to teach myself all the concepts through other platforms. EC though

Klimenko makes herself available in office hours and is helpful. This class consists of reading a chapter each week, a quiz, and discussions. The quizzes are 30% of your grade and you can either do a research paper, take the final, OR both for the highest grade. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities. I recommend doing the research paper.

Emailed us two hours before the deadline to clarify instructions for an assignment, at which time I'd already had it done and submitted, to instruct us to do something different than what was in canvas.

Terrible lectures, unclear grading criteria, and wrote the textbook containing several grammatical errors. Never had a worse Professor at UF, the final was nonsensical and I studied hard for a full week just to end with an A-. Klimenko is unreasonable and this class based on content should be easy, but she goes out to her way to make it terrible.

Did not promote interactions between professor and students. Very dry class material with a final that was not relevant to the material discussed in lectures and the textbook that she wrote

The class was ok overall. The quizzes dont really match the textbook so even though theyre open book, theyre pretty difficult. The final was honestly not bad, just read the textbook and do the quizzes in the book and that should cover most of it. She is easy to talk to and willing to help. She provides lots of EC. I'd give 3.5 stars if I could.

Long textbook chapters, but they are interesting enough to get through. The textbook is somewhat necessary for the module quizzes, as there are tiny facts that get asked about, however for the final all you need are her lecture videos. There is a project involving raising a virtual child and writing a paper, not hard at all and somewhat fun.

The class is pretty much just graded on weekly quizzes (easy), two big assignments (easy), and a final. I was nervous for the final because of how difficult I'd heard it was, but it wasn't bad at all. She lets you have 2 pages of notes, so I'm not sure how people can complain about it being unfair. The easiest class I took this semester by far.

Super sweet and caring professor! She goes out of her way to provide help to any student in need, and the class itself is definitely doable. The final exam has a bad reputation, but if you read the textbook it's perfectly fine. Overall great class.

This course offers the option to write a research paper or take a final exam. After hearing the exam would be difficult, I went the paper route. While it was time consuming, Professor Klimenko did offer feedback at each stage to help with the process. Each week there was an additional textbook chapter and quiz as well. Overall, the class was fine.

Klimenko cares about her students but the course is extremely hard to navigate. Lectures are not helpful, quizzes are challenging most of the time, and the textbook offers little clarification because it was written by her. She gives unclear feedback and the paper at the end has little instruction and is extremely difficult for no reason. EC though

I found her lectures to not be helpful at all. You're kind of expected to read the textbook before and then the lecture acts as "review." The research paper can be difficult if you don't correctly do the first 2 assignments. Also her instructions for the paper are not clear. Textbook is extremely boring. Quizzes can be difficult if you don't read.

This class was awful. The textbook was written by Klimenko and has multiple grammatical and logic issues. A 95% is an A in this class and quizzes are challenging and non-sensical. One paper is your entire grade in the class essentially, along with quizzes. TA also was no help and consistently gave me inaccurate information that hurt my performance.

Pretty average class, with one discussion and quiz weekly, with one paper and project. I never watched a lecture and relied on reading the extremely long textbook chapters, however I know some students that only watched lecture videos. Quizzes were difficult but manageable, however the final was much more difficult than any other work in the class.

Every week a quiz that was timed with 20 minutes. Open notes but tricky. Overall the most difficult thing was the 8-10 page research paper due. If you had a certain TA grading it, chances are you were going to get a lower grade than others. She seemed to want her students to succeed but her book created by her was confusing.

Dr. Klimenko is nice, understanding, and responds to emails quickly. But she does not teach very well. Most of the information I learned was from reading the textbook. The weekly reading, lectures, and timed quizzes were repetitive and busywork. She didn't really get me interested in psychology. Mediocre.

Comment:
The ratings for Klimenko honestly terrified me going into this class but it wasnt bad. She is a bit hard to understand since she has an accent and her grammar is a little confusing in some of the quiz questions and textbook (she writes it). Theres lots of extra credit though! Just dont procrastinate on the paper and ask questions if you need!
