Comment:
I did not mind the professor, but the class in general is not set-up well especially if you struggle with math. The students teach you 80% of the concepts and they do not even know them. The tests are hard because there is so many concepts on them. Asking for help, or extra credit isn't worth your time. You're just expected to get it.

She means well, and she is a fun person, but she is so confusing and half the time she teaches the material wrong and has to go back and reteach it. If you ask her for help, her explanations only make you more confused than you were before. She makes the material way harder than it has to be. Her examples are nothing like the homework we have.

Professor Friar is such a sweetheart who really wants her students to succeed. She gives a lot of story problems, but as long as you pay attention and show up to class you should be fine!

Horrible. Lectures are long and they are not clear. Only gives story problems and barely covers material. If you aren't good at math naturally DO NOT TAKE HER. You have to teach yourself most of the information and you will basically live in the math center to pass the exams. Horrible prof

Professor Friar is such an angel. She really does want you to do well, but she's very unclear in her teaching style. She only uses story problems on tests and quizzes, so if that's a problem at all, I would not recommend.

Friar is such a kindhearted woman. She genuinely wants the best for you. However, she does give a lot lot lot of busy work. She rambles a lot and her expectations can be unclear. I didn't find it too difficult& gained a lot of new teaching strategies. Just have to sit through a lot of useless rambling and unnecessary work. I would take her again.

Was a good Math 110 professor. Explains problems on the board and gives good review guides before tests. Only homework was WebWorks online and if you have a question email her and she usually gets back to you before it's due. Overall fair professor

I found her to be a good mathematics teacher. She works out problems on the board and has a very structured class for each section you will be doing. Her tests aren't that hard. At times they seemed almost too easy. She does assign way too many 5 point projects near the end of class. After a long lecture, it does get irritating.

She is super kind and friendly! The class is filled with activities and worksheets to do at your table with peers. Overall I learned a lot, the tests aren't bad and she has a study guide. The personal lesson is easy, just have fun with it. Tutoring was great, but be prepared to have extra activities outside of your lesson plan-timing is everything!

She is hard to understand, and often loses her train of thought. It can be very hard to fellow along with what she is teaching. Sometimes it seems she doesn't know what she is doing.

I thought she was a great professor. Attending class is a must because material is covered quickly and many new strategies are learned on a daily basis. She doesn't take off points if you are extremely detailed in your response. Make sure the directions to your answer are step by step. I would recommend taking her.

Absolute worst math professor I have had at GV. She doesn't have a uniform style of grading and takes off points for silly things. She is not very clear and you never know what to expect on quizzes and tests. Do not take her, This class can be a GPA ruiner. She can be hard to approach and not very helpful.

Really liked her style of teaching. Gave us numerous examples and some homework which was easy and helped out your grade. Midterm and Final are easy as long as you go to class and remember all of the strategies, etc.

Professor Friar was a great Prof! She was very helpful in class and always gave lots of examples. We had a lot of homework in the beginning of the semester but around midterms and after we had little to no homework. Most of the class is focused on tutoring which she let us do in class. :)

Profesor Friar was an excellent prof. She gave lots of examples in class and didn't move on until the class understood what we were learning. We had a lot of homework and reading in the begining of the semester but by midterms and after little to no homework at all. A lot of the class is focused around tutoring which she had us do during class. :)

I absolutely cannot stand Prof. Friar. I dred going to her class everyday. She assigns book work to do however it is not mandatory. GO TO CLASS. She sometimes does assignments/quiz's at the end of class that you cant make up and you wont know about till that day. She grades hard taking off pts for silly things. I do not recommend.

So nice and helpful. A lot of people complained about her sounding a little condescending but the truth is that she really pays attention the needs of the class. If one person seems to lag or everybody doesn't make it clear that they understand, she doesn't move on. I personally think this is great. I would recommend her, she's really helpful.

AWESOME PROF! I loved this class. Her math class was so much fun. It isn't a ton of content to learn, but you learn tons of activities to use in your classes! She keeps things VERY simple, but its not bad. She's a great prof, I recommend her to anyone!

I CANNOT understand why people dislike Prof. Friar. She is SO nice and knowledgeable. She clearly cares a lot about her students and the subject matter. She's really passionate about chidren learning mathematics well. She gives so much useful information for the future and, in general, the class is pretty easy. I got straight As with little effort.
