STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR! Your entire grade is based off of 4 quizzes and 2 exams, and if you miss 8 questions over the course of the ENTIRE SEMESTER (between all 6 of those assessments) you won't get an A. Unbelievable. He also writes trick questions that are difficult to decipher, no matter how well you study. Arrogant and rude, too.

Honts is clearly successful in the Psychology field, however, not in teaching. Rude to students in emails, very unhelpful-when asking him questions about his course he will turn you away and make you ask Boise State Help desk for any and all concerns. Not to mention he sent the wrong version of his syllabus and closed quizzes early with no mercy.

Professor Honts is knowledgeable but not very nice, and quite boring. The textbook was provided, free of charge, and the quiz questions were based off of that, very easy. the exams however were based on the lectures that didnt directly correlate to the text. Also accused me of cheating and lying when I asked a simple question. would not reccommend

Professor Honts (or DOCTOR Honts as he prefers) doesnt care about his students. He posted all our quizzes and available readings the first week, emailed us once about a huge project and said the info was in the syllabus. Never weekly to do items, it was all self taught. Im convinced hes only a professor so the university will fund his research.

There are better professors out there. I had 2-3 quizzes not appear for me and emailed him about them, didn't reply to me till after the due date and he said I should emailed him sooner but too late now. Some of the information was difficult for my tutor, who is getting her masters in this field, to understand. If you don't have to take him, DONT

My course was completely online and it was difficult but after a month I got used to the work load and understood the class expectations. There is quite a bit of reading but the quizzes are not that hard. Just a lot of lectures that are important for the exams!

There's nothing wrong with him as a person. He is clearly educated, smart, and knows his information. But his lectures are long, slow, and a bit monotone. He is very strict, which I'm normally fine with, but he's not great at communication, giving or receiving, which isn't a good combo. Gives little explanation to assignments, inflexible.

Professor Honts is knowledgable and respected in his field. However, his whole class is based on three quizzes and two exams where the questions are worded to trick you. The quizzes (open note) have questions in which the material is not covered in class/readings. I finished each test feeling like my understanding of the material was not tested.

Professor Honts is well experienced in his field! Lots of information given on the slides. Only a few things in the gradebook, his test are rather difficult but not impossible. Study very well in order to get a decent grade. Still a very great professor and very interesting class.

I loved this class. The only part that was hard about this class is the tests. If you go to the prep sessions then youll be fine. Quizlet has the quizzes, dont have to read the text book. STUDY FOR THE TESTS.

Prof. Honts is very knowledgeable and his class is easy, but his teaching style can be boring and hard to stay awake for. If you want an A, come to class and take notes on the videos and make sure to go to the review sessions that the TA holds before each exam. His final is worth 20pts and offered 20pts of extra credit at the end of the semester.

The best part of the class was the free textbook. Dr. Honts is obviously an expert but not an active prof. He just has you watch videos that you could watch at home, and the tiniest details are on the exam. He sometimes gives exam hints in class. He helps a little bit with a review day, but the open note quizzes are what really save your grade.

Dr. Honts is an expert in the use of the polygraph. His lectures show his expertise. However, class materials are 10-15 years old and out of date. You're graded on 3 quizzes and two exams with no extra credit available. If you need to reach him, don't expect quick responses to emails. Exam and quiz questions are ambiguous and worded to confuse you.

Professor Honts is a very respectable man with a ton of knowledge in his field. However, his lectures feel much like a one-sided conversation and he loves to ramble. Your grade is based on 3 bb quizzes and 2 exams which include questions that are worded to confuse you. You must read several peer-reviewed articles (30+ pgs) before each class.

Did not like this class at all. You watch boring TED Talks for the whole three hour lecture and you are quizzed and tested over all videos you watch in class. Poweroints are bland and doesn't include much. He seems to mostly only care about his own research, only 3 quizzes and two tests for your grade. No study guides and no extra credit.

Dr. Honts is a very kind and interesting man however, his research is clearly the priority. Doesn't respond to emails quick, & of our 3 hour night class we stay for 45 min - 1.5 hours watching movies. He rarely lectures. Weekly quizzes are very difficult & we're expected to take a final over section 6 (book ends at section 5). Frustrating. BEWARE

He's a great professor and tries to make things relevant and engaging. His quizzes are normally fairly tough but he uses a lot of the same information on the tests. I would recommend getting the book, lots of the questions are pulled out of the readings. Very fair with regards to assignments and grading.

Tests are written including the most minute details of up to one hour videos; some include information that was not in any materials provided. Email him about fixing points. No HW, but participation point questions for every class are based off chapters in the book. He seemed somewhat interested, but this is his definately his side job.

I loved this class! Dr. Honts is a renowned polygrapher and expert witness. His lectures are great- lots of first hand experience. Tests are tough- they're on BlackBoard, but you have to take them at the testing center, so no open notes/ book. Put the time in, and you'll get a good grade. No tricks.
