One of the best profs in the MIE dept no cap. Very good instructor and knows the material inside out. Lecture notes and examples were excellent in conveying the content. He is always willing to go the extra mile to help out students. Try to ace the quizzes, labs, solve all his recommended problems and you should pass with a decent grade.

Great prof. He gives u quizzes before each lecture (not for grades) just to show how the question would be in test form. Explains content very well and is a fair grader.

I would say Friedman is a really great prof and delivers his notes and examples very clearly. What really stands out about him for me is that he is a very caring person and is always willing to help you after class, during lecture, and even through email. Even if he is busy, he will still reply to your email after a few days. He is such a cutiepie

Dr. Friedman cares about the students and explains things pretty clearly in his lectures. He is also quite organized with the transition to an online lecture format and in emails detailing how things will proceed considering this transition. He makes thermo enjoyable.

This is an excellent prof. While he definitely deserves to be Department Chair, in my opinion he should still the 2nd and 3rd year Thermofluids courses, and leave the upper year courses to the 'special' profs. Dr Friedman will do a better job of teaching the fundamentals.

Comment:
This was a design course so there wasn't much teaching to be done. This course was very open-ended so it was good to do some real engineering, although according to some of my already-graduated seniors, like 5-6% of his info is outdated(like most common valve used in industry etc). But seems like a good, reasonably flexible prof.
