Comment:
Westfall acts like a gatekeeper to physics. While the setup of the class is nice, the lectures provide nothing to you. The presentations are confusing and it's difficult to know what to take notes on. My friends and I taught ourselves. He also isn't very helpful if you need assistance in the class. My suggestion is take pcubed, not this class.

Dr. Westfall is great. He really loves the material and is super goofy. He also wants everyone to be successful and will make a good grade very attainable. I love his class.

My semester, Westfall co-taught with another professor. All the material- lecture slides, recorded audio of the lectures, homework, etc is online. You are allowed one sheet of paper with formulas for each test- I highly highly highly recommend copying down the formulas used for the HW- often, it is exactly the same.

One of the best classes I've taken in my opinion. Not only was Professor Westfall a very helpful teacher, he was extremely funny and made sure to somehow connect to the students. The course material was very challenging, so if you did not show up to class, do not expect a high grade. Overall an excellent course for people interested in physics.

He has changed his style of teaching since the last post. Everything stays the same except for the fact that his tests are very tough now. Some problems are from the homework, and some problems are very difficult and almost impossible for anyone to get correct without having practiced for a good 8 hours before the exam.

He tries to make class interesting with jokes. The tests are exactly like the homework, he gives you equation sheets on tests, but if you don't understand the homework you wont do good on the tests. If you dont understand the lecture then it's kind of difficult because he wrote the book and says exactly what is written in the book.

He tries as hard as he can to get everyone a good grade in his class. Also tries to add humor to each lecture, though he is a little corny. You get a full page front and back of notes for each test and three for the final. Lectures online, extra credit for attendance. Recommend this prof!
