Great guy, very friendly. Lectures can be a bit dull at times since he goes on tangents OFTEN. Exams arent memorization heavy.

He had an entire section on attraction and did not include any LGBQ relationships whatsoever. He said that there wasn't enough research on it, which is false. He just likes using old, outdated research, and is inflexible. I also didn't like how he wasn't clear that not participating in his studies wouldn't affect your grades (if even true).

Really great class, definitely learned a lot. Puts a little break in the middle of class to tell a funny/inspirational story. If you take good notes in class and do the extra credit, you will get at least a B+. A good portion (20%?) of his tests come straight from the readings (and will say so on tests!) so be prepared to read if you want an A.

Make sure to go over the textbook vocabulary if you don't actually want to read it, that's about as far as the "textbook material that gets tested" goes.

Comment:
Frankly the lectures are boring even though the topics are interesting. Lectures are not really organized, so does the textbook, which cause quite a bit confusion when you try to put concepts together. However, you must read the book, since more than 1/5 of the exams are come from parts of the book that's not covered in the lecture.

He's a great professor! People think his class is easy but guys, you have to STUDY for his exams, SERIOUSLY. The topics covered are really interesting and I loved his stories.

It seemed like he valued every possible minute he could get for class, but could have condensed everything that he taught into half an hour. He also takes time to tell you about his life; a nice break but waste of time. Also frustrating is that he required you to read the textbook because he didn't have time to teach everything in class.

Not a hard class. The topic is very interesting however you can't not study for the tests. People go in thinking they'll get As and leave with Bs.

He's an interesting guy. Sure, he talks about himself quite a lot but it's not THAT boring. Besides, it's a nice break to sit back and relax after a 30 minute lecture. But don't miss out his classes, you'll definitely miss some important stuff. You'll do just fine if you do some work and regularly attend.

Go to class, even if you know he could finish the lecture in thirty minutes but wastes an hour and a half on it, read the chapters a few days before the test, memorize the vocab and you'll get an A. I studied for the final for 3 hours after going to every class and no extra help and I got above a 97. Just go to class. Seriously.

Rambles on at points, talks about himself a lot (which is fine sometimes), doesn't seem to present or stress empirical and scientific data/studies in depth enough

Talks waay too much about himself. Also, lectures can easily be taught in 30 min instead of 75min. Drags on and on..

It's easy to do well in the class if you get the lists he puts up in lecture + look over the text. I didn't like him as a prof. He spends 1/2 of class talking about his life and showing cartoons. He spends too long on some subjects, often over complicating them. Lastly, outside of giving lectures, he has no idea what is going on in the class.

He's very well-liked amongst students, but I was never a fan of his teaching style. Takes frequent and long stilted breaks from class to show cartoons or tell jokes. Why not integrate jokes into lecture? Tests are rote memorization: he asks for THE FIVE reasons for theory x, as if the ones he puts up on a slide were lassoed down from the heavens.

Not a hard class but you still learn a lot. Elliot makes class interesting by taking breaks to show cartoons and tell funny stories about himself so we can get to know him. He has a great sense of humor and is a great teacher.
