Mr. Perelman is absolutely one of the best teachers I've ever taken. He is a great man with a lot of knowledge. He is tough and honest. There is no easy A in any of his classes. However, if you come to class and ask questions, you will survive. He teaches the most and you will leave his class the best you can be.

If you have his 8:30 class feel free to be 15 minutes late, you'll probably get there at the same time as him. I was really disappointed with this instructor because I heard so many positive things about him. He really cut corners with our class by demonstrating simplified versions of our homework making it hard for us to actually learn anything.

Perelman can be unclear and his class is very difficult, BUT, he is the only teacher I've had at fidm that gives like 5 hrs of extra labs. If you go to them and he sees that you're trying you won't fail. He is so sweet and helpful

Good teacher for ideation. Very confusing with instructions for homework, he doesn't offer help in class so you need to go to his labs, i didnt like his teaching methods it didnt help me understand the class at all. Wish i wouldve taken another teacher for perspective.

Perelman is a unreal teacher, challenges you with your assignments but you see the difference between other classes. Show up to his labs, honestly you will benefit from them, He's tough as can be, but it's worth it, trust me.

Mr. Perelman is the best instructor I've had thus far at FIDM! I'm amazed at how far my drawing has come. He is willing to help you with any questions you may have! He does recommend that you be at every class and doesn't take excuses, but welcome to the industry! Take him for all your sketching classes!

Perelman is awesome. He can be a bit unclear about his hw assignments but other than that he is a great teacher, he'll work with you one-on-one in class if you need it. Just make sure you do YOUR BEST on assignments and DO NOT MISS any. If you miss any assignments it will severely affect your grade. But Perelman is cool if you show up.

He is a super nice guy BUT, his class is very hard. You MUST turn in EVERY SINGLE ASSIGNMENT or you will for sure fail- in my class there was about 30 students in the beginning & all dropped til there was 6 left. And most dropped 2 WEEKS before the quarter eneded. It Sucked!! He's cool but I wouldn't recommend taking him.

Michael Perelman is a master of his craft, and actually knows how to teach. I took him for Ideation Sketching, and by the end of the course, I was able to draw detailed illustrations fit for a book! He is helpful, and always gives you quick, and easy tips to make your artwork look professional. You won't regret taking his class.

BIGGEST FUCKING ASSHOLE ALIVE. the definition of a man who does not care when he passes or fails a student. no matter how hard one tried. i feel it reflects on a teacher by how many students he fails and he seems to fail a lot. if you want a teacher who doesn't notice when a student spends hours on work take his class.

Mr. Perelman is the bane of idiots, slackers, and talentless. He is an awesome teacher and really pushes his students to reach their potential. It doesn't hurt that he is super cute too. Mr. Perelman is an amalgam of a researcher and artists. He gives you the tools necessary to fulfill your potential (granted if you have any). He is great.

Amazing teacher! Can't say enough great things. He is extremely nice and helpful. He expects a lot from his students. If you are willing to work hard and eager to learn this is the right teacher for you. The only bad things Ive heard about him are from students who didn't want to put the work in. Michael is very nice. He sets strict guidelines in his class which is a great thing. Especially for first year students that think they can screw around. He is big on teaching students real life and that's why he is strict. I am not an artsy student though so many of the projects are difficult for me and he is a tough grader.

great teacher, is willing to help each student who has already given an effort. Wants students to learn the skills and not just pass the class. Has strict rules, but just the same as any real world job would. Honest, upbeat and positive. Great teacher and I highly recommend him.

He's a better artist than teacher, but he is a good guy. I worked very hard in his class and did well. If you are lazy, you will do very poorly in this course, and will grow to hate him. But, it'll be your own fault.
