He is a bad teacher who explains something once and never mentions it again even if it is on the test a lot. I had to sign up for alternate online courses to learn the course material because he was so bad and it is a miracle that I actually passed. If avoidable avoid at all costs.

Lectures are kinda irrelevant, super boring, and confusing. Read the test book for the test. Labs count the most so go to lab classes. Shin is rude and condescending and will yell at you for asking more than 2 questions. Some of the labs are on youtube btw. Overall, not bad once you understand the labs.

I don't even know why they employ professors like Shin who have no job other than to enter grades. His lectures are useless. Imagine making students wake up for 8:30 classes to tell them how a mouse works. He makes you do very long assignments 4 times a week that sometimes takes hours. Class is easy to do well in, but he makes it terrible.

Professor Shin is the absolute worst teacher at Geneseo. The class is easy but he is not understanding whatsoever if you have any questions. He is rude to students when they ask for help and mumbles in class during lectures. Does not explain what he is teaching and makes you feel stupid for not understanding the concepts.

Professor Shin is the WORST. He does not have any compassion or understanding in his body. I was sick and in the hospital and he told me that was not an excuse to not hand in my assignments. His assignments for this class are all graded through a software so he actually does nothing. If you ask him a question he will talk to you like you're dumb.

Can seem tough at first, but is nice if you talk to him. Lots of homework. Work together/take detailed notes on the guided prelab. If you look over the powerpoints you really don't need to go to class, although he gives extra credit for it. Sometimes doesn't answer your question.

He can be seen as a tough professor, but if you ask for help you will receive it. Decent professor. I recommend having Chegg (!!!) for this class it will really help with the spreadsheets and queries.

Go to all his lectures, he gives out extra credit if you go to the lectures and it helped me out a lot for my final grade. FIND KIDS IN YOUR CLASS AND WORK WITH GROUPS FOR ALL THE LABS. Take turns submitting them and you can see where you went wrong and everyone else can fix it and rotate each week. TEST R QUESTIONS OFF DATA BASE JUST MEMORIZE THEM

Shin is fine, and he really cares about his students, and it is not hard to ask him a question. Most of the people feel that he yells all the time thats only because his voice is loud. The class work for labs and lectures are not hard as long as you do the pre lab. Get to know him, he is not a bad guy.

Really just a horrible person and horrible teacher. He has a loose understanding of the material at best. His English is broken and he's extremely rude when you ask questions. You gotta take his class, but just beware of SHINFOTECH

Christian Shin is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. His classes are structured well and you can easily learn the material, but he is not helpful whatsoever. To better describe this, Shin treats his lab groups as something he is knowledgable about, but when someone other than him doesn't understand a concept, the only thing he does is yell.

I sit in the front of lecture, and I can barely hear him. He is not good at projecting his voice and his lectures consist of him reading the slides directly off of the powerpoint. He is extremely unhelpful in lab and if you ask him a question be prepared for a yelling long-winded response, that doesn't even answer your initial question. STAY CLEAR!

YO this the best teacher I've ever had! I love getting yelled at for asking questions as well as hearing his beautiful voice not explain anything coherently. Pls take this ASAP as possible. Refer to the "hang by rope" comment for further reference. pce

Shin is a very knowledgeable professor, but lacks any form of communication skills. Ask him a question and you'll be scolded for the next 20 minutes before you get an answer. He does have a clear grading policy, where lecture exams only count for 25% and labs are more. The lectures he storms by slides so you don't have any notes. Expect to work.

He is by far the absolute worst human being I have ever been in contact with. He will not let you ask questions and enjoys yelling at you for not knowing excel. He enjoys screaming at his students when they ask questions. He may or may not be the devil himself. I suggest buying a rope to hang yourself with along with your online code.

Comment:
Shin is a smart guy but an absolutely abysmal teacher - he doesn't have good interpersonal communication skills and is neither helpful nor responsive to students ins-class or out. The class is required for business students, but otherwise I'd avoid him.
