I hated this class all the way through. He didn't use his email or blackboard to keep track of your grades. He still used an overhead projector with transparency sheets the notes and test are different. The book is not useful. I can say he knows his class isn't very good, I ended the semester with a 67%, and with his bump ups got an A in the class

Mr. Debolt lacks respect towards his students and cannot speak pedagogically on the topic of bassoon. He is a horrific teacher.

Dr. Debolt is a very kind, well mannered Southern Boy. Very helpful no matter what the problem was. He would even stay later after the class to help. Attending concerts (5) gives extra points, and also coming to class is an extra "oopmh." He specifically gives you a study guide to know what will be on the test! I would recommend him to anyone!

Very dull class. Tests are straight from the notes and listening CD's.

I absolutely cannot stand Mr. Debolt. He doesn't have any respect towards his students in the education degree or students in groups he doesn't like. He doesn't know when to retire and is past his prime on the bassoon. I DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE FOR BASSOON STUDY!

I love Mr. DeBolt!! He obviously loves the subject, and he's able to share his passion with us. He explains everything very well, and you probably won't use the textbook at all. Amazing teacher!

I adore Mr. DeBolt. He has such a passion for music and he gets all excited about the peices we listen to in class, which made learning about them much more enjoyable. He was very clear about what would be on tests and he made both the notes and music available online, although the site was a little hard to navigate. Overall, it was a good class :)

Debolt is definitly an all around nice guy and really does bring southern hospitality to the class...he is odd though. When he talks, I think of Andy Griffith. I hate hearing him eat during private lessons and ensembles though, such a pet peeve. He definitly dresses like a high school student. I missed a class the first week, though, and he called my parents. That definitly irritated me...I know hes trying to help, but this is college, not high school.

Careful . . . don't say or do anything wrong! This man will do everything in his power to make your life as difficult as possible. Bad teacher. Eats lunch noisily during rehearsal. Would rather listen to his own voice, than coach a group.

He was so hilarious. He's like 60-70 years old and he dresses like a high school boy. Even though I didn't learn much in the class, I had fun, but it was kind of pointless.

A teacher that holds a grudge and lies to students about petty issues. We could be treated like adults, but he chooses to treat students like infants.

I thought he was on crack. Very strange man, but applies his southern hospitality to his class. 3 exams. 3rd exam is last test and final. Not very hard, but not easy. Just know the musical pecies and info on the peice youll be fine.
