Comment:
Sheflin's a solid choice if you want to take macro, he'll be really accommodating with grades and drop the lowest quizzes, hw, and even weight your final differently. His lectures are a bit boring and he can ramble a lot, but if you study straight off of the assignment notes he gives you (he's really specific about some stuff) then you'll do fine.

Professor Sheflin is a good professor for Intro to Macro. His class consisted of weekly homework quizzes, 4-5 quizzes (10 questions), clicker questions (which weren't too bad), and then the final (50% of your grade). If you take the time to understand the material when doing the homework, the final will not be hard at all.

The clickers count as quiz grades but they don't even work sometimes with the clicker app. Also he asks a lot of trick questions which gets extremely annoying. One of the most self-important teachers I've ever had. I always left his class angry.

Iclicker participation is a mess. No emailing him directly, all questions are posted in chat room on sakai. Homework before class is due. Final worth 50-60% of grade with basic concepts from the whole semester but wording is tricky and never a real cut answer. Wouldn't recommend him.

he really isn't kidding when he says the final is mostly general concepts of macro and nothing really specific. so the final is a breeze if you genuinely read and try to understand the material which doesn't really take much work past reading the textbook imo. I would take notes on the textbook readings and pay attention in class.

I spent all class on my phone and didn't pay attention at all. But, I spent a week before the final reviewing for 4 hours everyday and I got a 93% on the final and ended the class with a 92%. An easy A if you get grind the week before the final. Also I never read a page of the textbook and was fine.

If you want to learn Macro Economics take him. Students will cheat during HW and Quizzes. If your avg was C(HW+Quizzes), but on the Final you got B+ or A you will get the highest score. If on your Final you did way worst than on your HW you will get lower score. Final exam is much easier than HW. Alwase review your HW. A lot memorisation

Sheflin was chill. The HWS were easy and so were the quizzes. The final makes up your grade since it is 40% of your grade. Only thing that was annoying was the final curve for the class and was not fair. Did not think the grading for a B+ was fair at all and he should have been more considerate.

Sheflin was a great and knowledgeable professor for macro, but you gotta put in the work for the A. He has clicker questions, timed homeworks (I would recommend doing it without looking stuff online), and a final worth 40% of your grade. Taking notes on the textbook and using the quizlet was super helpful in my opinion.

Sheflin is a great professor. He is very passionate about economics and teaches much better than other profs in the department. He uses clicker points so u gotta go to class but its a grade booster. Fairly laid back grading criteria and not to bad if you pay some attention

This man literally scheduled a final for 9 pm on a Friday, smack dab during the last football game of the year (12/18). Homework quizzes are easy and most of the answers are available online. He gives out reading assignments weekly that are ungodly amounts of reading, with quizzes at 9 pm. Lowest quiz grade is dropped, so are lowest few hw grades

Good econ professor, clearly knows his stuff. Quizes are easy if you do the reading. Weekly HW can get annoying. The lowest grades on quizzes and HWs get dropped so that helps you with your grade. Overall not an easy class but not hard either. Would recommend.

His lectures were actually pretty interesting, however, they were virtually useless when it came to homework/quizzes/final. Weekly exam style homework with 50 questions, all totaling 15%, 3 quizzes for 25% and a final worth 60%. He also only gave us 25 minutes for 25 questions on the quiz and they were at 9 pm on Thursday night.

He is a good prof. If you really want to learn the material he is amazing. You can easily cheat on the Hw but I dont rec. since they are actually super helpful in learning the material. He doesnt give tests and the majority of your grade is the final. I really like his teaching style of read the material and then come to class with questions.

You want to do your work as honestly as possible because it will pay off for his quizzes(25% of grade) and especially his final (40% of the grade). Read, do hw(pretty easy), pay attention to the lectures, participate. His clicker questions are a bit tough but very doable and prepare well for the final. He cares about teaching and the student, work!

This professor did not care for his students nor their grades. He constantly belittled the students and would show no mercy towards anyone. Believed he was funny and taught well but was a terrible professor as his lectures taught me nothing except how to babble about news for an hour straight. you will do better if you read the textbook and ignore.

genuinely the best prof and class of my freshman year. sheflin gives many oppurtunities to succeed. esp w covid, he was very accomodating. he drops the lowest couple clicker quiz grades and the lowest quiz grade. final is 60% of grade, so study hard and try to take the class w friends - it helps. PLENTY of oppurtunities for extra credit. 10/10 rec

Sheflin is a savage. He will call you out in the middle of class. This class is easy if you show up, but the final is 60%. He can get kinda annoying sometimes. You learn a decent amount.

Professor Sheflin is definitely not as bad as everyone says he is. He clearly cares a lot about the topic and is actually a really good teacher (if you put the work in). Be careful because the final is worth 60% of your grade, but it's not too hard (again... if you put the work in).

The best choice for intro to macro. He's a good guy & the final is worth 60% but as long you somewhat study, you should do fine
