Francis is a great professor. He is so funny, and genetics is such an interesting course. Hes not hard to understand if you try. Everything he says is on his slides and he explains everything very clearly. He is a bit rude during office hours, but other that hes amazing. I wish he uploaded audio though during COVID-19. Easiest 92% I received.

My favourite prof in the bio/bcmb department. He wants his students to succeed and understand the material. No arrogance, trick questions, or attitude. 90% of the material tested is in his slides, but it's helpful to go to see how long he talks about a topic, the longer he talks about something the more likely it'll be on the test!

At first, it was kind of difficult to understand him from his accent, but after i understood him perfectly and he, to me, is seen as a comedian. He is a very funny professor and teaches great. He taught us a lot about his research in Gaucher's disease, which I found was fascinating. Overall, the class requires a lot of studying, but its worth it.

Dr. Choy has been one of my favourite professors. You need to listen closely to catch all that he says because of his accent, but once you are able to do that his lectures are engaging and often quite amusing.

Comment:
Dr. Choy is very kind and wants his students to succeed. It's important to pay attention in his upper level classes because the content can be dense and hard to catch up on. Definitely a professor where the amount of work you put into the course reflects your final grade - not an easy course, but a fair one.

Dr. Choy is pretty much my hero. He is very smart and makes lectures incredibly interesting and fun. He's always telling stories and cracking jokes. not hard to do well in his class as long as you focus on the slides and go see him on anything your unclear on. I would recommend any of his classes.

Choy means well but his lectures are extremely hard to follow as he is hard to understand. His slides are taken directly out of the textbook thankfully so it makes studying easy. I found his section of the course difficult.

Dr. Choy is a very sweet man, he often makes jokes in lecture and seems to care for students success! It is quite difficult to understand him at times, and the material is not easy, so I definitely recommend getting the textbook! However, he is very good at explaining topics in person if you go see him in office hours!

EVERYTHING that he teaches is written out on his slides which he posts online so that makes studying super easy and missing a class no big deal. That being said, if you don't go to class you will miss out on some very entertaining, often less than PC life advice.

He's a really great guy and clearly enjoys the subject matter! He's very funny in lectures but can be quite hard to follow. His tests are fair but have quite a few trick questions on them. Overall he's great, the course itself does require lots of reading and studying though.

Francis does try his best to be clear and concise but he was still very confusing to listen to. I had a very tough time staying focused and actually listening to his lectures. I usually ended up reading the textbook with my headphones in during the lecture.

Choy taught Bio 401 for the first half. His lectures were generally good - he sometimes got off track and talked about other techniques, but didn't test on them. Tests were MC, but had some tricky questions with all/none of the above. Don't overthink them!

Awesome prof! This dude will make you want to come to class and learn because he's such a good lecturer. He's funny and really enthusiastic. Exams are straightforward BUT detailed so you NEED to study and study well. His only drawback is that he's a bit of a jerk during office hours, but during lectures he's really cool.

He is an amazing lecturer, hilarious and very engaging but I have heard some things about his arrogance at office hours. His exams are quite tricky, so you have to know your material well and approach him if you have any problems with it. BIOL230 is a course which you really do have to study for.
