She's very knowledgeable and can be friendly outside of class, but in class, she can be pretty disrespectful toward students who disagree with her position.

Postives: intelligent and interested! Well-read and traveled. She cares a great deal and is a very good lecturer. The difficulty - she doesn't lead a free discussion. It seems she just gets too excited and has to take over. Very fine in undergrad but at the upper div. or above you may be frustrated.

Nice lady who is a bit hard to figure out. She's always got a big, friendly smile on her face; but can suddenly confuse you with a remark that is either offensive or discouraging (but probably not intended to be so). I wish she were a little more prepared for class, but she is always more than willing to address questions and concerns

I was a bit disappointed by this class. She didn't give papers back until two weeks before the semester's end. She doesn't provide any structure/guidelines for assignments and hardly gave feedback. She didn't give due dates until half way through the semester. When she was prepared, she was great! But most times she was very disorganized.

Lazy/stupid people be warned! Robinett is the real deal, and most people that gripe about her are either whiners, sneaks or just plain lousy thinkers. Your writing and thinking will be tested--and probably improved--but be prepared to take a few lumps. She's not for the fragile of ego, certainly, but grad students are thick-skinned, right? :>

She keeps class discussion lively talking about current events. Very approachable and helpful. This class was a requirement but I didn't mind going at all.

Though the readings may be a bit tedious for this class, but they are explained fully in lectures. This professor is amazingly nice and lenient, yet still at the same time is able to be strict and get students to respect her. Make sure you do all the reading (even if it's on sparknotes) and be prepared to discuss it in class.

Prof Robinett is approachable, easy-going, but also takes her work very seriously. The readings were interesting and appropriate, and I learned a lot from her class. I questioned how good the class would be since it was a requirement, but I was surprised by how much I learned. Recommendation for sure!

Always keeps class interesting and involves students in the discussions. The reading isn't too heavy, which is good, and she's very helpful if you talk to her in office hours. Grades very fairly on the essays (she could tell when I slacked off).

Prof Robinett is one the best writing teachers at SDSU. She actually teaches you how to structure a good argument, something that helped me a lot in my other classes. She is also very informed on the issues we discussed, and class discussions were very eye opening and relevant. Put in some work on your essays and you'll get a good grade.

Dr. Robinett can be boring at times, but maybe it's because I don't like the subject. Essays were okay considering that I hate writing essays. I learned a lot about writing argument essays and really did good compared to rws 100 and 200. Class can be really boring and journals can be a drag. If you can get through discussing boring literature take

Agree about grading being a ??? the entire semester. I had to keep a very close account, myself. Multi-Cult Lit is boring and she connects it all to either history or politics rather than aesthetic or narrative. The Journals are a waste (used almost like a quiz) and her feed back on papers is average at best. 601 is a Core class, so good luck.

Almost all of the books were lame, blah-blah-blah is what I got from the class. I like her as a teacher, she was very good. Give her a break, the material she is forced to give is just horrendous. It is true, nobody knows how she comes up with your grade, and its A LOT of reading to not know...

Mediocre and excessive reading...an average of 2 novels a week for her class alone and she's totally ignorant as to how much reading she assigns. However, interesting approach to literature and she's REALLY smart. Take only if you're serious about literature

I was terrified of this class when i started, but she made the class enjoyable. My writing has been traditionally very poor, but after taking the class my writing techniques have improved and now i am a much better writter. Take her 500w class, you will like it!

She talks you listen. If she does not agree with your opinion or does not have time for you she will quickly shut you down. You do a ton of work, turn in all the assignment, show up for class, but it will still be unclear if you will get an A out of her.

Hard professor. Grade was based on 4 essays and that was it! Lots of reading, but the material was really interesting. A nice lady and a liberal too! I recommend it if you like literature and writing
